• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Hot & Uncomfortable Spyders

Well, it's been many moons since we have been on spyderlovers.com, but after seeing Seth O's burned up legs from his 2008 Can Am Spyder, I figure I had better drop my 2 cents in!!!Some of you may remember I've had a lot of trouble with my early 2008 can-am spyder, se5, the spyder from hell...

Who thinks DPS warranty should be extended.

DPS Warranty Extension Don't expect BRP to step up to the plate & do what's right, it does not seem that they are an honorable company. Thank God we paid the extra $1000 for the extended warranty at the time of purchase. Our spyder has so many mechanical & electrical problems we are beginning...

    Electrical hook up....

Electrical hookup/battery Do not try to take the bolt loose from the battery ground wire, because there is a self locking nut underneath that you can not get to. Once I got mine loose, I cound not tighten it back up & it took me hours to get the self locking nut off. Once off I tapped into the...

    62nd Annual Ice Cycle Run

Howdy ya-all! Well, just to prove I'm still a little crazy, I went out 1-1-10 morning at 7:30 am, "zero" degrees & rode the 2008 CAN AM Spyder about 35 miles to the gathering point at Chief's Towing in Bloomington, MN for the 62nd Ice Cycle Run.My hands froze up& tingled, ached & cramped up. My...

rode home at -7 degrees today

Minnesota cold We had the pleasure of meeting & riding with Seth one day this year. Seth is a 29yr old with a lot of heart & rides his sypder like hell, and his spyder goes like hell. He let me take a test ride on it. Seth is our kind of guy because his heated garage is 3 x's bigger than his...

    curious but cautious

2008 SM5 for sale First off, go to his dealer, your dealer, any dealer & make sure you could buy the extended warranty in your name, $1000 +, because you may need it. I would offer $10,000 and negotiate from there. Check with your local dealers and see what they would give you.

I think the party is over.

We are the owners of an early 2008 se5 that we have dubed hi tech computerized electrical nightmare, our selling dealer was crap. We are now working through Carlo and Pete Hoff at Towsley Motorsports in White Bear Lake, MN. Something that may improve you opinion of some motorcycle mechanics...

    What happened??

I don't know what the initial comment was, but the "common sense guy" sounds like a righteous dude to me. Us old rebels need to stick together, we are not the minority, we are the silent majority, let's roll!

    12V Accessory Outlet

I noticed in shop talk a thread regarding the 12V Accessory Outlet, & in checking my spyder, noticed the installing genius mechanic did not check his work and install the fuse for the 12V Accessory outlet. So, I checked my 7 pages of instruction sheet to find out where the fuse is supposed to...

Hit Deer Seth, glad to hear you are ok. I also have front air intake plastic you can have if other guys deal falls thru somehow. Engine missing

Engine Missing We had an intermittent miss on our early 2008 se5 spyder and the dealer had to replace #1 spark plug high tension wire, and that solved that problem for now.

    Magazine Article

The Motorcycle Consumer News, December 2009, has 2 good pages of first impression of the 2010 CAN AM RT-s Spyder. It seems as if the test riders were not impressed with the high tech coputerized electrical nightmare. They would like to see a hand brake on the right handlebar. PS: we do still...

    Oil Catch Can Warranty issues..

Catch can warranty issues Another case of bad dealership, bad service manager, bad mechanic, don't deal with these people any further. Call customer service & speak with Carlo directly, explain the situation, ask him what he wants you to do. Turn problem dealership into BBB. Our first...

    Battery problem

Battery Reply As far as I know, Spyder batteries do not have water because they lay on their side & are jelly filled. It's pretty easy to check the charging system by hooking a volt meter across the positive & negative and running the engine up to about 3000 rpm to see if the battery voltage...
