• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

7 Years - to find out I got Cheated

sadly - it's been so long I don't think i have the original paper work anymore - or at least I'm un-able to find it Just unsure if the HID's were standard to the Phantoms or not - if not, then I'm in the wrong, but I swore they were part of the package.

7 Years - to find out I got Cheated

Been a LONG time since I've posted on this forum - even so i appreciate it A LOT! But - to my point at hand 7 year ago - I bought my 2009 Phantom Black GS - with all the trimmings - even added a Hindle. Love it - have had very few issues with it over the 32k miles i now have on it! But today...

    Belt Replacement - Anyone Else?

That was why the labor bill was so high, i had them check both front and rear sprockets - they both looked fine, no chips or rocks or anything (guy wanted me to replace them anyways - not gonna happen if there isn't anything wrong with them) - just had never heard of a Spyder with such low miles...

    Belt Replacement - Anyone Else?

That's the weird thing - there were no rocks or anything in the sprockets at all - the belt seems to have degraded and the sprockets themselves were ripping the teeth off

    Belt Replacement - Anyone Else?

So, a few weeks back, I was having issues on my way to work with my 2009 GS Spyder - It seemed to be bucking on my way down the road. Couldn't for the life of me figure out why until i got to work, only to see that the teeth on the belt were being RIPPED OFF! As you can see in this picture -...

    Saddlebags question

Not to be argumentative - but I'll have to give my 2 cents - not sure what this service guy is smoking - I installed the corbin bags myself, took me a few hours only because I'm not the most handy of people. I find it hard to believe it would make it hard to service the bike - in fact I've...

    First Major Issue!

UPDATE: Called the Shop today - looks like it is a hole in the reservoir - just happens to be pointed slightly upward - so it only leaks when under pressure. So they have one on order - hopefully I'll have the Spyder back next week! Can't tell you all how great it is having a community like...

    First Major Issue!

Well, 21,000+ miles and I finally have had my first issue with the Spyder. I took it for a quick ride across town (like 2 miles) to grab some staples (ran out of milk and the like). On the way back, it was giving me the Hi-Temp Warning - which made no sense - it was 40 degrees outside...

From Vmax to Spyder....Am I getting old?

It always amazes me, I thought I'd be the one going "oh that's a 'grandpa' bike". The Spyder is my first bike - bought it when I was 25 - thing is way too much fun to be considered a 'geezer glider'! As far as break downs - I've had 21000 trouble free miles - and I'm definitely NOT what you...

    Stolen Plate!

I'm definitely going out and getting some new hardware - thanks for the suggestions on that! Actually just got the plate replaced at the DMV - they voided the my old plate number and gave me a new one - cost me $7 bucks so it wasn't as awful as I was afraid it was gonna be. Honestly, my...

    Stolen Plate!

I was hoping that was the case - but upon inspection of the bracket the torque screws holding the bracket on (under the plate) have tool makes on them, like they were trying to take the bracket or something. Guess I'll be getting some new security screws to ensure that either thing wont happen...

    Stolen Plate!

Okay, I'm just curious - how may of you out there have, or have thought of replacing the screws for holding the license plate on? Because, it looks like I'm gonna be forced to - and some jag-off STOLE MY PLATE! Of course this happens on a weekend ride , so i can't even do anything about not...

i've got a question and it happens to do with birds!

Been There, Done it The Spyder is my first bike, and I've got about 19k miles on it now, so maybe its a fluke that I've hit a bird and had one *seriously* close encounter with a Bald Eagle - swear it would have scuffed my helmet had I not ducked a bit. But, I HAVE hit a Robin (the irony of...

Post here if you have over 5000 miles, not kilometers on your Spyder

First Bike! Got 16,700 Miles on mine - first bike I've ever owned - had it 2 years now - not too bad if I do say so myself!

What is your before and after?

I must say, those are some pretty sweet looking rydes! I loved the look of mine when I got it - but I did get a Phantom so that might not be fair. That doesn't mean there isn't a before and after for me too!

Annoyed by people asking how much $$$$ ...

Living in WI, that's pretty much the same answer I give, "Less than a Harley!" That's usually enough of an answer for the 'rude' people, but I'll actually tell them if they are serious about it.

    Seeking Spyder Owner's advice

First Timer I was worried at first myself, I was in the same position as you, brand new to motorcycling, bought my Spyder brand new literally 2 weeks after I got my License. I'm about to roll mine over 15k miles, haven't had any issues. In fact, biggest issue I've had is spending more money...

    Rain gear and wet crotches

Zipper the problem? I got myself a relatively cheap one piece suit for when it gets colder / rainy. The crotch only gets wet when its really raining pretty hard, and I'm pretty sure that it's a combination of how I sit on the bike (since it's more of a saddle) and where the bottom of the...
