• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    traction control?

Stripperking, IWN2RYD, This is exactly what I would like to see corrected. It seems most people assume when I want to adjust the VSS it's because I want to excede my abilities no mater what they are. A quick (usually not very quick) right or left turn in town will almost always result in the VSS...

Thanks BajaRon, Your reply brought a chuckle,:D. Most of the others just missed the point. Dwight

what kind of engine would you like ?

Ya know, I'm not really too unhappy with the stock engine. If they would just give us the ability to choose different stages of tune like most of the new crotch rockets I think that would take care of it. How about Touring, Sport, and Rain selections? Couple the tune stages with the VSS to...

    Spyderfest 2011 Info and check-in

Got a personal invite from Len when we stopped in last summer to see if they could fix my parking brake. If we still own a Spyder we will be there. Dwight & Patty PS: They did fix the brake for us while we waited, absolutely great dealership!

    traction control?

Soooooooo, is what I'm reading here mean that the Spyder is so unstable that it is un-rideable (?) without VSS? Also, did I miss something? I thought he just asked about disconnecting the VSS. I didn't see the part about whether you all thought it was a good idea or not.:chat: Dwight

    Rear air bag problems

Yep, that was one of the first things they replaced on mine. Could be that again though. I doubt that we will know, it sounds like they are gonna replace the whole system. Dwight

    Rear air bag problems

You're not in left field Frank. That is exactly what happened to a number of the first RT's. BRP didn't get the word out quick enough and some of them were damaged during setup. This isn't the problem with mine, and yes I have had the rear tire changed. Mine just won't hold air. I talked to my...

Maybe I just need a hug

Frank, I don't think you just need a hug, unless it's from someone in authority at BRP. What you need, and I need, and several other owners of "problem child" RT-S's is some serious face time with someone that cares! Unfortunatly I don't think BRP has anyone like that on staff. My dealer has...

Another company to make a reverse trike?

Perhaps we should also consider this: http://www.piaggiousa.com/scooters.php#/home/Piaggio MP3 500 I can't see where Can Am is in the forefront of reverse trikes, particulary when this one (Ok it's a scooter) has been on the market for several years. Piaggio is a very large builder of scooters...

Vid: spyder shacks during passing curve vid roads in MotoGP Prizewinner Cruise Laps

I'm sure there was some exageration on the drivers part but this video exactly illustrates the poor suspension on the front and the Spyders tendancy to "wallow" thru the curves. Many riders other than myself have commented on this problem. I was happy to see this as it's the best possible...

Evoluzione Sway Bar - Info Needed

Just a request, if you post about the swaybar, please indicate what model you are using it on. It seems to work well on the RS models, not so well on the RT models. Dwight

    First impressions of Elka

Tonga, are you riding two up or single? I don't have as much body roll running 1 up but as soon as I have a passenger it's back. Yes I do have the ability to adjust both compression and rebound dampening and have adjusted them from what came stock. I have a lot of compression dampening dialed...

    First impressions of Elka

I don't think you can go wrong with the WP's or the Elkas. I have the Elkas with the 300lb springs at 9". Works good but it won't cure the body roll. I also have the sway bar and don't notice a difference when two up, does seem to help with one up. Now I'm trying to decide what to do about the...

    Airbag problems...

Just a note: They replaced the fitting and the airbag on mine, still didn't fix it. They finally traced it to the air valve/manifold and replaced that. It's held up but I'm begining to get some bounce until the motor is running. I need to check the air pressure to see if it's leaking down again...

    Tires For RTs only

I think tirerack has some Bridgestones that are 165/65/14. I know there are some other tires in that size also. Just google the tire size and I'm sure you will find some. Dwight

Recall DPS thoughts... P.S. BRP Does Listen...

IWN2RYD, Keep on posting, I don't always agree with you but I still enjoy your posts. Regarding the traditional riders, when I had my face to face with Kurt and Carlo I asked them if any of the engineers that worked on the Spyders rode motorcycles. They assured me they did and steered the topic...

Elka Shocks thoughts after riding for a while?

Just got my springs, haven't installed them yet, hopefully by tomorrow. Problem is Dr. won't let me ride for another 10 days. I have a torn Retina so not much activity allowed, I'm even going to miss the Bar-B-Q:gaah: I will report on the ride as soon as I can, I know that the shocks work really...

BuRP to replace steering on RT's

I'm not sure what to expect. If my steering remains the same then I'm pretty sure that all of the RT's steer the same and mine isn't any different. That won't make me happy. I see two major problems with the steering, too much assist, and too much twist in the steering shaft before your front...

BuRP to replace steering on RT's

I just got a call from my dealer that BuRP is going to replace the steering unit in the RT's. Anybody else heard this? Supposedly new bulletin released Sept 7. According to the service guy they will send them new units equal to 10% of units sold initially, then piecemeal them out as they use...
