• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can anyone ID this lefover part from Dealer delivery?

Mines not on either. Found it in the trunk. If it truly is a battery cover, only function I can suspect would be to keep some heat(insulation)on the battery during the cold months. Being that I'm in a hot climate, mine will stay off. And if you're using a tender during lay up, the battery...

    Check engine light

Makes sense, my outside temp read 128 degrees on the dash while in the parking lot. Yeah, expect it to be another hot one, just hope it's not a 70 days straight of triple figures like last year.

    Check engine light

I'd say it was an extreme condition, I had 6 hrs of run time on the trip meter with an average speed of 21 mph and burned the whole tank of gas during the class. All while having the heat index in the triple digits. Didn't get into second gear for any of the exercises. I'd hate to see what...

    Check engine light

Being you're in Vegas, ever have something like that? I'm sure you've seen some extreme heat out your way, but then again, you're probably pushing some fresh air into the machine. I was puttering around on a parking lot for 4 hours.

    Check engine light

Can't get the light to come on again...then again, guess that's a good thing! I knew I should have done the 3 finger thing right away, just kinda slipped my mine with everything else going on. Then when I remembered, darn thing was gone.

    Check engine light

Nope, very cautious about that from all the reading I have done. Furthermore, it never went into limp or check DPS fault commonly associated with riding the brake.

    Check engine light

Alright experts, got a check engine light 3 times this past weekend. Now for a little background... I went and took the Motorcycle Safety Course(wanted to get a break on insurance)and used the spyder. On day one, we started on the driving course in the heat of the day and temps were pushing 95...

    Cruise control

We have one particularly bad stretch of road near the house with a limit of 40 mph. Being the law breaker that I am, cruise goes on at 45 for this area. Sometimes I'll lock it in in 5th, other times I'll have to drop to 4th and lock in. Figured out the whole rpm thing pretty quick.

    SUSPENSION QUESTIION

I've poured over these kind of posts since joining. After reading everything, I'm running the front shocks at 4, pumped the air bag to 70 psi, have the front tires at 19 psi and the rear at 28 psi. We generally are 2 up 75% of the time and these settings give wifey a nice ride. Oh yeah...

How close to 600 do you have to be, for the 600 mile service?

Did mine a few weeks ago and I had 800 on the ticker.

Spyder RT Limited or Harley Davidson Triglide

Your wife has the jump on mine. She passed 1 month to the day after purchase. She had ZERO riding experience going into this. I let her practice for 3 weeks(shhh, don't tell anyone) awaiting her entry into a class. Good to go...a happy wife makes for a happy life!

Spyder RT Limited or Harley Davidson Triglide

First off, let me say I have no experience with the HD brand. However, it was on the short list when we began looking. So we set aside a Saturday morning/afternoon to go look at the market. We're fortunate that we have dealers of both brands close to home. Went to the Spyder dealer first...

    WASHING THE SPYDER

Spray directly as you say, but the more important thing is using a good quality microfiber polishing cloth. No swirlies for me and I've had to get pretty aggressive removing some of the splatters, the bugs are more like small birds down here in TX.

    WASHING THE SPYDER

No water on mine I've been using a line of products from MotoOz, a local company in my area. They market the products for the Harley riders, but they are safe for our :spyder2:. A lot cheaper than Plexus and safe for everything including the windshields. Might want to check them out, they'll...

    Saw my first Spyder today!

So, I had a day off of work today, did some things around the house, then decided to go for a ride. I like sticking to the back roads to enjoy the scenery and avoid the big truck going through the area. I'm about half way into my ride starting to head home and to my surprise, I see off in the...

Half helmet like HJC IS-2 vs 3/4 or full face helmets

We have the HJC IS-33 (x2), one for me and one for her. Really like the integrated sun shade. Haven't found it to be too hot....yet. Ask me later in the summer when the Texas heat rolls in.

How Many years of street riding experience do you have?

Never had a street bike, I was smart enough to know I might get myself into a lot of trouble with one. However, growing up on/near multiple farms, I've had my fair share of ripping through the fields on dirt bikes, 3 wheelers, quads, snowmobiles. So I guess my poll vote has to be...new to...
