• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Blew another rear shock

I think the above post sums up why I went stock again. One bad from initial assembly I'll give the benefit of the doubt to BRP, the 2nd blowing out because of roads....I guess it was just that. If the 3rd goes out quickly, then idk!! I did have 10k on the most recent one.

    Blew another rear shock

How pricey?? I dropped $106 for another stock one. Really hope this one lasts longer. 3 is crazy, but like I said before, this is the first one I'm responsible for. Hopefully the dealer will be able to see if there is anything else abnormal causing this. Just gotta wait for the parts. It...

    Blew another rear shock

Took the wife for a 50 mile ride on Friday, but without incident. On the way home, we had to navigate some construction and unfortunately, the temporary roads/crossovers are in terrible shape. As a result, we did some bumping and banging over the imperfections, and I heard it.....bang! Rear...

    Reliable DFW dealer

I've used 3 different dealers, Richardson MotorSports was my purchasing dealer, North Texas Yamaha in Lewisville for some service and recently checked out Louis PowerSports in Greenville. My search is over...Louis will be my go to dealer from now on for all my Spyder needs!

my first spyderfest just got cancelled

I can sympathize, not about going, but with the other things. Last summer, I had the double whammy...replaced the HVAC and had a SLAP tear and rotator cuff repair. Talk about a bad summer!

    Check DPS/Limp Home Mode

I thought the same, even accused the wife when it first happened...she assured me she was no where near the brake. And when it happened to me, I was under throttle in a straight line. As a rookie 2 years ago, the brake riding thing was part of our learning curve. Been there, done that, got the...

    Check DPS/Limp Home Mode

Varied...if I take it to work, it's the short trip(about 3miles), if the wife takes it(about 11 miles) and 20 mins of run time. Interestingly enough, it first surfaced after one of the wife's trips. She rode in in the am, spyder sat in the lot for 9 hrs and then the fault occurred on the trip...

    Check DPS/Limp Home Mode

Have one, but don't really hook up this time of year, it's generally driven every day. Might have to go that route if it's getting weak.

    Check DPS/Limp Home Mode

No issues today Rode to work in the am, home for lunch, back to work, and home for the day and had no issues. Guess I just have to keep ryding to keep a full charge in her. Pretty confident a new battery is in my future.

    Check DPS/Limp Home Mode

Need some help experts...wife was on the spyder the other day when she called and said the screen was a unhappy shade of orange, check dps and limp home. She pulled over, pulled the key and walked away. Fired up about 5 min later, all clear. Ran about 3 more miles and it triggered again...

I think I am at a croos roads

Come to Texas Edsts...bring your machine, which ever one you prefer, to my area. I'll put you on some roads that you'd really enjoy. The wife and I are 41 and we ain't afraid to let the rpms sing. Really don't have much of a reason not to, the limits on the 2 lane are 70 and some of the...

Can Anyone Advise on Which Dealers to Deal with or NOT Deal With near Dallas TX

Another vote ...to Louis PowerSports. Although I did not originally buy from them(big mistake), they are now my go to dealer for everything. The next purchase will come from them. Having said that, I have delt with Richardson MotorSports(purchasing dealer) and North Texas Yamaha. Don't...

    2014 Rts major oil leak

Well?? Hate to put it this way, however...you posted relatively upset about the issue and then come back and say its resolved and you are satisfied with the outcome. In the forum world, this is a great opportunity to provide valuable information to the masses about a possible/potential problem...

What is the average mileage I should expect out of a rear tire?

Tire wear Just replaced the rear two weeks ago after 10k. Usually we're 2 up, running 70-75 on the interstate on concrete here in Tx. Heck, even the "back roads" we can run +60 mph on asphalt. It was probably ready for a change out at 9000, but I pushed it a bit further.

    Stranded on hwy transmission out

Glad it's fixed Further confirmation that I'll keep my '11 and wait for 2015. Get the bugs worked out! I hate first year anything.

    600 mile oil change

Not too severe, we've seen worse. To put it into perspective, I took mine in today for a 10k check up. Oil change, filters, full service, BUDS check, new rear tire mounted and balanced and everything that goes with that and a state inspection.......out the door at $360. i was more than happy...

    Play em or Fold em

Greenville Talked to the guys up there the other day, they're gonna come down a notch but nothing substantial. I almost traded the '11 for a '13 the price was just crazy good...$22400 for a limited, but held off. If they're dealing like this now, I'll just hold out another year and grab one...

    2013 or 2014

Waiting on '15 Waiting on the 2015 RT here. First year production on anything scares me. Essentially the 2013's could be classified as a first year with the new chassis on the RT and the intro of the ST. Kinda figured there would be some kinks and that has become a reality. I would love a...

    2014 RT Colors

This!!! It is a beautiful looking color, but I think the market will be saturated in this color. Anyhoooo, waiting till 2015 anyway for the bugs to get worked out, and I'm sure some other colors will show up in the lineup.
