• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

NOW that's the kind of humor we need around here!! Mac:clap::roflblack:

    Motorcycle Lift

I d/n want to lift it by the frunk, I was hoping by going from the front of the bike, I could balance it better. But it works out OK by going from the side, and I can stabilize it enough to do front or rear tire(s) with just the jack ( as long as the grand kids aren't around!). Mac:yikes:

    Motorcycle Lift

I use one of these lifts. Works well enough, except you can't go from the front end under the frunk. So have to place it from the side, close to the front wheels to lift it for tire changes and to get it close enough to C.G. so it will balance good enough. Mac:doorag:

I had the same thing happen and I used a turkey baster with a piece of hose stuck on the end. Mac:doorag:

    Easter sunday

Right back at you! HAPPY EASTER everyone. Got 3 more inches of wet, heavy snow this morning and the salt trucks are out. Adds 3 more weeks before the roads are cleared off again. I was just painting my deck yesterday and all our snow was gone! Oh well, can't wait to move to Vegas in a year or...

    LAMONSTER NBV brackets & pegs

I have the '14 RTL and I am 6'1" tall. My machine is basically stock ( seat & bars). I was apprehensive about buying the NBV brackets due to the fact, I tried placing my feet up on the "splash guards" and felt it really did not give me that much more leg room. I thought about the foot board...

    An Adventure Bike Conversion

I just figured if I can't recoup my investment money, I could re-purpose our :spyder2: to handle a beach down in Mexico somewhere! At least I could turn the frunk into a cooler for the beer, and the side bags could be used for the fish taco's!! Mac:roflblack:

    An Adventure Bike Conversion

Chain drive would be a great idea. But would you use Off-road motorcycle "knobbies" or would you use Off-road SUV "all-terrain/mud lug" type tires like that individual did? And could we keep it stabile enough to handle the types of terrain/roads we would be operating it on? Or could we have a...

    An Adventure Bike Conversion

I just found a way to get back into the off-road world! Got to be narrower than a side-by-side, so it should be legal for the trail systems? Thanks Bob! Mac:riding:

Any ideas to get a stripped Transmission drain plug out?

I don't know if I would drill it, due to the ground clearance of the Spyder, even with an offset drill. The plug has a magnet on it, but I can't remember off hand how tall the plug was. If you need to drill it, I would definitely put it up on a lift so you can be absolutely sure of where that...

Any ideas to get a stripped Transmission drain plug out?

I had the same issue with the engine plug on my '14. I was able to take the next size up Torx bit and lightly tap it into the drain plug and it had enough grip to remove the plug. You could possibly use an Allen/Hex wrench and get it to grab. Just make sure you "lightly tap" whatever bit you're...

    Only riders will understand

I did the same thing with my '80 Honda 750F in Coeur De Laine, Idaho and one other hotel in Oregon on the coast. Hotel managers get pretty PI**** when you and the boys get a block of ground level rooms and five rooms have bikes in them! Mac:roflblack::roflblack:

    FRONT TIRES FINALLY REPLACED

The Rt. had a "bump" on it. As you rode the bike at speed, you could look down at the inside of the wheel and it would run true, but when you looked at the inside of the tire on the sidewall, you could see a defect which would cause a "shake or buzz" in the handle bars. I took it to my...

    FRONT TIRES FINALLY REPLACED

From what I read on the tire description, the Conti's were rated highly for wet weather traction and that is the reason why I decided to give them a try. I thought going with the narrower ratio would be better than the 175's, so I wouldn't have to do any fender mods and the 160/170's weren't...

    FRONT TIRES FINALLY REPLACED

I was dealing with Discount Tire Direct, and they did not have the stock tire size for the fronts in the Conti's. I bought a rear Yokohoma and the two Conti's and man did I have quite the time convincing the person on the other end of the phone about why I was buying miss-matched tires! I think...

    FRONT TIRES FINALLY REPLACED

You are absolutely correct. Must have been "auto correct" and I did not catch the "caulk" thing. Thanks for simplifying my lengthy post, Three Wheels! Mac:doorag:

    FRONT TIRES FINALLY REPLACED

Well I will explain how "I" do my tires on my 4 wheeled vehicles, since I'm sure to get criticized in some way or form. But here goes. I take a piece of chalk and mark a line across (horizontally) the tread of one tire (front and rear of a car/truck, 1 front tire of a Spyder in this case and if...

    FRONT TIRES FINALLY REPLACED

Had my local tire dealer install my new Continental "pro-contacts" (155/60R15) yesterday. Cost me $38.00 for the two. Took the wheels in and they removed the original Kendas, which had 18,000 miles on them, and mounted & balanced the two new ones and did not even ask me what they were off of...

    LAMONSTER NBV brackets & pegs

I've only owned one other bike that had foot boards ('02Yamaha Roadstar 1600). Had severely broken right leg and reconstructed left foot, hence the Spyder, I don't really care for foot boards much, Way back when, I could dance around on pegs much better and felt more connected to the bike. But...
