I believe "CAF" is now Commemorative Air Force these days. They still do a nice job of preserving old war birds. Thanks for the writeups and the pictures.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vietnam was before I emigrated here, it was just something on the TV news for a minute or two every couple of weeks. Until I came to the US I really didn't know much about it. I had no idea what it was really about.
From what I have subsequently learned as an American, I especially thank you for your service.

OK, catch up time again. The hotel I stayed in last night didn't have working Internet, but tonight in Memphis I do, so here we go.
When last seen, our intrepid traveler was departing Round Rock for beautiful downtown Texarkana - a great place to live, work, and shop.
Taking the Interstate highways again I pass over beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard. It looked like a nice place to relax
Oh wait, you can't see the lake because of that stupid railing that makes this look like any other stretch of highway. *sigh*
A bit farther down the road near Cumby it begins to look less like big city Interstate and more like a two lane highway
Yeah, not real exciting, but it is progress toward Texarkana where I bagged another ToH bonus
I then headed to the Wyndham Gardens hotel. Not recommended. Besides the lack of Internet, there was some sort of stain on the ceiling, and the luggage carts both needed repair. On the plus side, 11am checkout time and a wonderfully comfortable bed.
On to Memphis.
Before I got out of Texarkana I had to take a couple of fun photos.
Here I am straddling the Texas and Arkansas border.
State Line Avenue is just that. If you look carefully, you will see the Arkansas flag on the right side of the street, and opposite, the Texas State Flag
One more just because I love old abandoned buildings.

Since I'm trying to restrict my posts to around 6 photos, You get a bonus post today.
I picked up another ToH bonus in Arkadelphia. Had to work for this one a bit. There was a sloooooow moving freight crossing in front of the bonus. So I took this one:
Train number 1 finally cleared the way, but before the gates went up, another train going the opposite direction could be heard about to cross, so I snapped this one quickly
And since the bike and bonus are supposed to be in the same photo, or provide another photo showing why they could not be together, I added this one
I know it's still Interstate driving, but this is much more pleasant than West Texas
Tomorrow I'll grab some stuff around Memphis.
I had dinner at B.B. King's Blues Club - great BBQ and pretty good, if loud, music.
I don't know what it is with so many groups that think they have to be stadium loud when playing inside at a relatively small venue. As an aside, when I see Joe Bonamassa play the anniversary gigs at Maui Sugar Mill, or the Baked Potato, he is quiet. Usually it's him, Jimmy Vivino, a bass player, and drummer, and these are small venues, maybe 120 people tops. You can talk without shouting and don't need earplugs when listening to the music. It's like you're sitting in his living room listening to him jam with some buddies. OK, I'm better now, I got that off my chest.
