There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I do not want to upset anyone with a possible repeat, but I have researched this all over the web and I am not finding what I need to get this Spyder running. I bought this new and it has had the recall power steering unit changed, right after I got it. Then I drove it home and parked it in a climate controlled shop in my backyard, where it has been sitting for years. It looks showroom new. I have kept up with all the fluids, including draining the gas tank and refilling it several times.

About a year ago, I took an interest in getting it running, again, so I put in a fresh battery; drained and refilled the tank with fresh gas and a little Seafoam; I flushed out the fuel rail; replaced the main fuel filter; topped off the brake fluid and antifreeze; and proceeded to go through the start-up sequence. Turning the key on, the fuel pump pressurized the fuel rail; I heard the click of the fuel injectors; the brake was set; Neutral light was lit; I hit the mode switch; aaaannnnd, it cranked beautifully but would not fire. When I sprayed a little ether in both sides of the throttle body, it started and ran for an exciting moment, and then died.

I have been through all the fuses and relays; rechecked the battery and connections; and the brake switches. Nothing is rusted, corroded, or chewed. I have all the plastic removed so I can get to everything. I know its not getting fuel, but I am totally at the end of what I know. Please, does anyone have any idea as to what I am missing? Please respond, Thanks.

PS, I do have the factory manual...

I suspect your fuel injectors may be stuck.
Try cranking a few times and pull the plugs.
If they're dry, the injectors may be stuck closed. If wet with gas, they may be stuck open and flooding the bike.

Once you do figure out the problem, if it was flooded, I'd change the oil before running it more than a couple minutes.

I had checked the plugs a while back and they were dry and not fouled at the time, but I have done other things since, so I will check them again to see if that has changed. Another problem I am up against with the injectors, I would like to pull the fuel rail and the injectors, but even if the injectors are stuck or plugged, they no longer have injectors available for this motor. I might get by with a good cleaning of the injectors but another problem is they no longer have the fuel rail gaskets, so if the old ones get damaged, I am sunk. It's my own fault, I should have ridden it more or sold it. Does anyone know where I might find a set of the gaskets? Please let me know. Regardless, I will re-inspect the plugs for wet gas and get back to you.

I know there are ways to attempt FI cleaning without removing them. I will let you know how it goes, and thank you for your thoughts...

A bit of time beating up on the Google search engine, and I identified two possible part numbers for the fuel injectors on a 2010 RS SE5.

420874488 (and maybe 420874487)

I found two websites that listed the 420874488 part number.
One of them has a list of the models that that part fits, and one of them is a 2010 Spyder.

It says "Expected to Ship in 4-9 Days" which means they might not actually have any, but it's worth contacting them.
The phone number on the website is area code 503, which is Oregon.

Listed at $119.99 each.

I think these may be the o-rings you need, one of each for each injector:

420631220 - "Expected to ship in 4-9 days"
420431890 - listed as in stock

I was pondering this a bit more, and another option for the injectors wiggled it's way into my tired brain.

And Google provided a possible answer, at least in my neck of the woods:

They do have a list of injectors that they will work on, so reach out to them to see if they can help you.

I also found this place, which doesn't have a specific list,

It specifically suggests that you call and ask for an estimate.

To @racoon, I thank you greatly for your time and effort. I am still going to try a non removal F-I cleaning but thinking about how long they have set, I believe they will have to be rebuilt or replaced. Thank you for giving me places to contact, and I would not hesitate to pull the injectors, not so much for the O-rings but my main concern is the fuel rail flat gaskets, (see photo exploded view ref #2). I would assume these two flat fuel rail gaskets, one on the left front and one on right rear of the throttle body would not be reusable and everywhere I have searched, I find they are no longer made or available. I will continue to work on this and will talk to the leads you have given me. I will continue to post how it goes. Thank you again.

I checked with the Tennessee FI service company, talked with Keith. He is very knowledgeable and assured me he could service what I had. So, I am going to concentrate more on finding or making the fuel rail gaskets. I also sent a plea to BRP, I hope they will offer some help for this as well. Regardless, I now have hope I can get it running and that feels good. Racoon, thanks again and a shout out to Cobranut as well. You guys helped me to think more outside the box. Don't know if you are following this, but I will post again as things progress... Thanks

Are the gaskets you are looking for not a part of this Venturi Repair Kit?

Venturi repair kit.jpg

Thank you, and yes, they are. I had researched this through a couple of Can-Am OEM parts suppliers and found that kit but at a ridiculously higher price with a very vague description. The price on the order list you sent is much more reasonable. I have been in touch with BRP, I was politely told they will not help, and suggested that I find a dealer in my area. After the help and advice of several here, I am now sure that I've found a suggested service place that will ultrasonically clean and test the injectors, and with what you just sent, I will once again pursue the Repair Venturi Device Kit.

I am going to take the advice of BRP and see if I can find a Spyder dealer who has the technical knowledge and can verify for sure that this kit has what I need. When I first bought this, honestly, I had a better knowledge of the Spyder than the young kids in their service departments. Not to overextend my welcome, but do any of you work with or know of a dealer in the USA who you trust with a good background in the Spyder world? Once again, thanks to all of you...

From my experience with the old iron, you're better off thinking out of the box and taking your part numbers to shops that specialize in the parts and get the latest and greatest replacement part that you can find!! If you try to get BRP involved, you will have to take it to a certified dealer and then they will have to start a slip and then you bend over and grab your ankles, in most cases. Good luck with the outside shop, that is the route I would go in! (y) (y)

To Mikey, I understand where you are coming from, and many times what you said is how it goes, but let me tell you where I am with this. (Recap) I contacted BRP and they told me I would have to use a dealer, so I reached out to a dealer who did not have the parts I was looking for, but they also contacted BRP and were able to add to the story. The injectors are discontinued, but the rebuild gasket kit is still available, and on a list to be sent to the US from Canada, but it is caught up in the tariff issue with no release date. Someone from BRP did some research, and found a couple of dealers who should have them in stock. One was in California, they still had them on the shelf, and they checked to be sure. So, the gasket kit is paid for and on the way. Once I am sure the right gaskets are in this kit, I have a fuel injector service company that I talked with here, (thanks to Racoon), who said they can do what I need done to clean and test the original injectors. I will post progress as it happens, but again, thank you all for taking the time with this. I hope to have it running soon!
