This seems to be a continued thread, but I'm afraid my used 4K mile ’22 Sport has all the symptoms ya’ll have described. Beginning to think that I made a grave mistake in buying the thing because I didn’t have a clue about all the potential issues these machines seem to be “blessed” with. The PO apparently didn’t have a clue either, so she didn’t address them.
First noticed the wonky LH steering issue the second month I had it, when I rode up to the Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP) after the Helene debris was cleared off in the VA sections, to look at the fall leaf colors. The road I took up to it is pretty twisty and the thing went crazy on a number of the LH turns I entered. Being less aggressive when entering those turns seemed to help, but the tendency for it to act up was still there. And yes, I did check the rear tire pressure when I made my first stop on that ride.
I haven’t been up that way since, but it still kicks in riding locally when hitting expressway on/off ramps. A few days ago, I noticed the LH turn signal not cancelling occasionally too; it’s never done that before.
Really peeves me off because I was planning on riding it over to WV in a few weeks to attend a folk festival. Knowing the roads I’ll be on, and the machine trying to pitch me off in every LH curve, is going to make for one miserable trip. Think I’d better play it safe and take one of my 2-wheelers.
In the interim, I guess I’ll start collecting parts and investing in the pricey BUDS thing to try to fix it myself. I will not be taking it back to a dealer. They couldn’t even install a fuel pump without screwing it up. I mean, how hard is it to align an arrow so that it points between the two lines on the tank?
Frustrated.
I installed the Steering Update Kit but the problem persisted. In my case I also had a bad SAS. I rezeroed the SAS, I have BUDS and checked it, it was off by 5-6 degrees, I would rezero it, and after a ride it would be off again. I replaced it with a used SAS and the problem was finally fixed. If you go to a dealer, ask them what the SAS is saying when you bring it in.
I'm having similar LH issues with my '22 Sport, but based on what you found with the bad SAS, do you think the update kit install was really necessary?
