• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What, if any, differences or improvements are there on 2024 Spyders over earlier?

These questions are directed towards those of you that have purchased a new 2024 F3L or even a RTL bike. Are the headlights better than previous model years in regard to their brightness? How is the instrumentation appearance as opposed to previous models? Is operating the reverse simpler? I have had a 2020 RTL and later on traded for a 2022 F3L Limited. I'm thinking of trading for a 2024 leftover F3L, but only if I think that it is better than what I got.

Off of the top of my head...

Bigger 10.5" Dash Screen
Apple CarPlay (main reason that I bought a 2024)
Handlebar buttons mostly redesigned, no dedicated "R" button, roll throttle backward to let it shift into reverse
Roll throttle backward to confirm nanny screen.
No external FM antenna
Cruise Control buttons are much better (at least compared to my 2017)

Has the 47-52 mph whine been finally engineered out on the 2024 models? HOW IS THE RADIO reception on the 24 models with the elimination of the antenna? Lighting better?

Nope. I have that same whine around 48 MPH on my 2024. I never use the radio so can't comment on that.

Does it work with Android Auto?

The dash on the new ones is awesome, I have a '22 and sure wish I had the new dash, screen, whatever you call it

No. The hang tag implied it may be coming in the future but have heard no more about it since then.
I have a Samsung S21+ and it connects to the Bluetooth fine with the latest software download. You connect the Spyder to a wifi connection and you can check for updates. If it's not up to date it's fairly troublesome with the audio controls. You don't have the apps displayed like Apple car play but you get full functions and will display the media that is playing. I haven't used Google maps outside if just audio turn by turn so not sure how the interface is. The audio is fine. The only gripe I have is there is quite the delay from pressing the controls on the hand grip until the phone actually reacts. Sometimes like 5 seconds.

Are the headlamps greatly improved over previous years? I see that they have been redesigned but are they better?

We have a '23 S2S and a '24 S2S. I did not think the '24 headlamps were any better. But I took advantage of the $500 credit BRP offered as compensation for all the issues with the new fangled screen and battery to have them install the lower lighting bar in the front below the frunk. Comes on with the headlights. Seems to help a bit, but not enormously.

If I was gonna do this again, I would get the '23 S2S again but not the '24...

Just looking at generalisations for a few minutes - if the 2024 models do not have any improvements over the previous models, then the engineers at corporate are off course and leading the company down a road where more complicated systems are more difficult to understand and work on, while they provide no real advantage to the end owners. If there are any real improvements, are they cost effective and able to provide longer and more pleasant service life? This is the point where you have to ignore any government mandated changes, because they are not really instituted on a rational basis.

And as a final thought:
"All generalizations are false, including this one."
~~ Mark Twain

There are many positive changes on the 24/25 Spyders with the display and handle controls over previous models. If you have a pre 24, you will be very pleased.
