Unfortunately, the time has come. I am not riding enough (for a variety of reasons) to justify keeping the RT. It is a sad day after some 50+ years of riding (11 of which was on Spyders), but it had to be done. One of the major reasons is that the state of the roads on the mid north coast have been allowed to deteriorate to such an extent that even with my Ikon shocks and higher profile tyres the backroad riding is “painful”, both physically and mentally. The freeways are the only roads with an acceptable surface, and they aren’t much fun after an hour or so.
Thanks to all those on here who made my F3/RT Spyder life easier through your problem solving, tips and tricks and humour. It was very much appreciated.
I have kept my helmet, Kevlar pants, jacket and rain gear, just in case
. After all, good 6XL/tall jackets, 38” inleg pants and associated rain gear are pretty hard to come by.
Have a beer for me next time you pull over for a lunch break. I’ll be thinking of you……jealously
