• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Baker Built Belt Tensioner

Before trying a belt tensioner... try this... it works. Try putting a dab of GREASE on the belt TEETH and ride a few minutes to let it distribute. That was a dealer tip I got and it worked! New belts have deep teeth and don't release easily from the drive sprocket causing it to lag for a...

    Swerving.. Spyder or human error?

What you are experiencing may be the road conditions and the Spyder's three wheel design. All asphalt roads develop grooves where heavy four wheelers depress the tire area and leave a crest in the center. This could be only an 1/2" raised crest to 2 or 3 inches high. The Spyder's rear drive...

    ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS ISSUE

If the squeal is only in reverse... don't worry about it. Most motorcycle brake pads are set extremely close to the rotors to minimize road grime from getting in. Some pads even ride on the rotors a little (Harley Road King) and there is a noticeable dragging sound which is also normal. My...

Lifting the rear end of 2012 RTS...

For my next oil change I'd like to do this: Drive front end up on two auto ramps (lifts about 7-8") Carefully jack up rear end with auto jack to level with ramps... lift point to be at the joint where rear shock joins brackets. I can cushion this lift point with a piece of hard rubber if...

    Is this normal?

When you take it in to the dealer... make sure your complaint about the smoke is WRITTEN on the job ticket and not just handled verbally. You may need a good paper trail by the time you get a handle on this. TexGEOas Argyle, TX:ani29:

2000+ Mile Trip... the Good and the Bad and the Ugly... 2012 RT SE5 Ltd

Having been a Harley Road King rider for many years, I had to train myself to use the higher RPM's of the Spyder's engine after years of hearing the comfortable sound of 2000-3000rpms. My mileage improved as I got better at using the Spyder's higher RPM's. Now, I shift at 5700-6000+ depending on...

2000+ Mile Trip... the Good and the Bad and the Ugly... 2012 RT SE5 Ltd

Just got in from Colorado-Wyoming-Montana-South Dakota trip... we rode just over 2,000 miles. Average gas mileage 31.47mpg. Highest was 40.4 and lowest was 23.9mpg. While the average was good... the lowest mpg's came at the worst possible time when gas stations were hard to find. There was one...

Vibration at interstate speeds -- Input please - 2012 Spyder RT Limited - 4200 miles

In all likelihood, the vibration is coming from your drive belt. Typical rpm vibration points are 4200, 5200 and up in the 6300 range. I have exactly what you are describing on my 2012 RTS Limited. One thing that helps is a pea sized glob of white lithium grease on the belt teeth, Yes... grease...

HELP! Looking for Spyder Dealers in CO, WY, MT and SD. Is BRP list any good???

I'm headed to WY, MT and SD and pretty sure I may need a rear tire replaced somewhere along the way. Using BRP's Dealer Finder website... I emailed three dealers to ask if they keep the tire in stock. No answer! Nada. None. I suspect the dealer info I got on the BRP site is stale. Do any...

    Removing Mirror on 2012 RT

I'm okay with the wiggle if it would just stay quiet! I squeaks anytime I ride over a rough spot of any kind. I can manually jiggle it while stopped and I get the squeak. Guess I'll try the tip of a little foam packing first. If that doesn't work... off it comes. Wonder if it would hurt any...

For Baja Ron: Evoluzione Sway Bar & Heim Links Question

Shouldn't the sway bar be mounted INSIDE the heim links? (this one is outside the link at least on this side) Or, is that just how BajaRon's bar installs?

    Baja Ron Swaybar tip

And, be sure to look at all the pictures posted by BMWLarry. With his pictures and your tip... centering is coverd very well. The links swivel... so be sure to measure them after they are turned parallel to the metal on the A-arm. I used a long needle nosed pliers to nudge the link into...
