• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP Connect: Selection of GPS Apps

A good thread idea. I’ve been playing with Genius & Rever (just the free trials). I'm not interested in a subscription so am leaning toward Genius. It allows loading of gpx files, so I can upload a route that I create on computer or track using a GPS. Apparently once you purchase the app, they...

Do Can Am Spyders have a Reserve Tank???

The manual states the Fuel Tank Capacity is 27.00 litres (7,13 US gal) & Reserve Fuel Capacity is 4.50 litres (1.19 US gal) I don't think it's such a bad question. My answer is: There is no Fuel petcock switch. Your fuel range indicator will tell you how many km or miles you have left...

Battery trickle charger vs. Battery Tender??

I too have swapped the fuse to use the plug in the top trunk 12 Volt Outlet. It is very easy to use. I use a Trickle Charger (Battery Tender Brand) - 100 mA. I just plug the charger into the outlet once a month for 24 hours. Haven't had a problem since my first Spyder in 2008. Now on number 3...

Non switched 12 v outlet for battery tender

Switched or Unswitched - YOUR CHOICE Not sure about the F3, but on the RT you can choose by using Fuse position 6 (Switched) or moving it to position 7 (non-switched). Just remember that if you leave something plugged in while the Spyder is not running it will be discharging your battery. I...

    Battery tender 3 amp

Where are the terminals? I had a 2012 RT-S and put on a trickle charge for 24 - 48 hours every month or so during the winter to keep things ready for Spring. Well, I went to do it on my 2016 and it does not seem to have the same set up. Where do I find the terminals on a 2016 RT-S? I've looked...

Installation of Garmin Zumo 660 GPS for Spyder RTS

Thanks Billy. That is a rough enough estimate for me to decide it will be less expensive than purchasing a new harnes for the 2016. You guys are an amazing source of information

Installation of Garmin Zumo 660 GPS for Spyder RTS

:2thumbs: That is awesome! Thanks so much. I will probably have the dealer do it. How much labour time would you estimate to remove and reinstall onto the 2016?

Installation of Garmin Zumo 660 GPS for Spyder RTS

2012 and 2016 RT-S Models? I am trading in my 2012 RT-S for a 2016 RT-S Does anyone know if the GPS harnesses are the same? I would like to keep my Garmin 660 and install it onto the new Spyder. Just not sure if all the plug ins will be the same for both the 2 and 3 cyl.

    2016 or 2017?

Just about ready to trade in my RT-S 2012. There are new 2016's available or I can get a 2017. 2016 are less expensive. My question is: Are there any issues I should be aware of with the 2016's? I am pretty sure there are not enough 2017's to give accurate feedback. So.... 2016 or 2017. They...

    Two ply sidewall

I am almost ready for a new Rear tire. This will be my 3rd tire (60,000km). I am thinking about possibly Toyo this time. Two concerns are: Do the 4 ply sidewalls give less "flex" than 2 ply? I am pretty agressive, especially in corners. Would this play havoc on the Stability Control System...
