• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How do you reply when asked about the Spyder?

I assure people that it IS a motorcycle. In 2011, the Feds reclassified motorcycles to include 3-wheeled vehicles (which have a saddle for the rider and other distinctions from vehicles that you sit in and have a steering wheel). Actually, the problem we're having in MI, now that we've amended...

    Moving down a dirt/gravel road

Don't panic! It's not a biggie. I live 1.5 miles from the nearest pavement. All roads out of here are dirt, and many of my destinations never see pavement. I do have the missing belt guard on my RT, but I don't rely on it, meaning I slow down as if I didn't have it. Depending on the size...

A+ to River Raisin Powersports in Monroe MI (and a coolant tip)

When I read horror stories in here of dealers who don't know what they're doing or take forever to make appointments or keep your Spyder forever, I'm reminded of how lucky I am to have the great team at RRPS. I just had a complete inspection/service done on Spykie to give me peace of mind this...

What Tire gauge are you all using?

I bought this on amazon 3 years ago for the Spyder, but I love it so much, I use it on everything - tractors, hay equipment, truck, quad, you name it. It's easy to use and has a great case for keeping the gauge clean in the field. I do see its price has gone up, though. I paid $65...

Clunk When putting into Gear - is it normal, or what?

Back when I read the entire owner's manual for my new 2015 RTS SE6, it called this neutral-to-first clunk "positive engagement".

New rider this spring -- I hope!

Gonna try this again. I just replied and nothing happened. I live on and am surrounded by gravel roads. I bought the missing belt guard for my Spyder and it helps, but even so, you need to slow way down to protect the belt and all the plastic that's rattling like crazy! The Spyder handles...

    Badass baby names

King? Power? Tornado? Rocket? Wild? Denim? Diesel? Danger? Crash? I think we'll be seeing a lot of kids legally changing their names to John or Jane as soon as they're old enough! :D

A different version of Country Roads

I loved it! And I think John Denver would be honored, not only because those kids had so much fun with his creation, but because they sang it the way he wrote it. 99% of the contestants on shows like The Voice and American Idol drive me nuts by butchering songs beyond recognition. Kudos to...

    To the rescue...whoa horsey!

It appears the scooter simply ran that Halflinger to a tired enough state to slow down more than he rescued him, but either way, it was a happy ending. Although, as my fellow horsemen know, time will tell if the pavement pounding will founder him, especially since it sounded like he was shod.

    Battery Tender Deal

I have tenders on everything from my Spyder to my quad to my tractors, and, as others have discussed, I like the BatteryMinder, but I too got the email from my Rider Insurance company with this CTEK offer. I jumped on it because my quad's battery was thoroughly deceased two weeks ago, and a...

    Bike to neutral

My 2015 RT-S has never done this. It does, however, have the peculiar habit when I'm slowing down of timing a downshift as I bump across a RR track. It seems the mild concussion causes it to shift slightly earlier than it otherwise would.

Accident July 7, 2018. Prayers needed

I'm so very sorry, Doc. May peace finally replace the battle you both fought so valiantly. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

Accident July 7, 2018. Prayers needed

Doc, I'm so very sorry for all that you and Kathy have been through, and now you're struggling as I was last May when my husband of 44 years suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke. We too had discussed, never unwaveringly, our wishes to be let go if there was no reasonable hope of returning...

My hay customer and I got scammed. Can anyone explain??

The more I learn, the more I'm convinced this was a random hack, especially given the WiFi info (thanks, BryanSD). The info my friend gave in her message provided the guy with everything he used in his scam. Thanks again, everyone, for your condolences as well as advice. Running the farm all...

My hay customer and I got scammed. Can anyone explain??

More good advice. Thanks, Fat Baxter. I told my friend to go to the Prosecutor and Channel 7 Action News, and she's got a retired cop delving more deeply into it for her. But I'll add your suggestions to the list of what others have said here. Who needs FB when we've got the Off Topic...
