• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    RT fuel economy/range

I'm from the other side of the globe based in New Zealand and I own a 2016/17 vegas pearl white 1330 RT and whilst fuel economy is not a major concern, it still is a topic that I am interested in. I saw in the sales info that BRP claimed a fuel range of 250miles (400Kms), this was a welcomed...

1330 and Gas Mileage Review - What's yours? Anyone else tracking theirs?

Hello AeroPilot, I'm from the other side of the globe based in New Zealand and I read your post with much interest. I own a 2016/17 vegas pearl white 1330 RT and whilst fuel economy is not a major concern, it still is a topic that I am interested in. I saw in the sales info that BRP claimed a...

    1330 Performance Upgrades

I own a RT and find the power output while not mind blowing and like some of the previous comments, I would have thought it should produce a few more ponies for the size of engine and revs, but generally speaking, I am happy with it. However I find the fuel economy not to be as good as I would...

Oil Plug head broke off on 1330 F3.

I have opted to buy an accessory magnetic drain plug, found a few here online in new Zealand, however when it arrived, it had a thread length of 18mm as compared to 12mm length of the original. Didn't think that would be an issue, however did check to make sure there was clearance in the sump...

Oil Plug head broke off on 1330 F3.

Hello JCTHORNE, That's very interesting about the clutch drain plug because initially I thought the same thing. Having tried my allen keys and not finding one that felt good and seeing that the main oil plug was torx, I tried them and found one that fitted, but as I said in my previous post, I...

Oil Plug head broke off on 1330 F3.

Hi guys, I have just done my first oil change and found this post to be very interesting. I didn't have a torque wrench, so hand tightened by feel was the method. My concern is the method by which Can Am have adopted for removal and reinstalling the oil drain plugs. I am a mechanically minded...

    Trailer coupling

trailer coupling Thanks for your reply. From your reply, are you saying that you have not seen any couplings without a factory manufacturer locking pin device fitted as standard. I believe the security hole is standard, what I am trying to ascertain is the locking pin that uses this hole a...

    Trailer coupling

trailer coupling Thanks for that mike. Yes tow ball is correct, in fact the coupling is very tight to slip over and off the ball. The reason I like this coupling is the fact that you can adjust the tension to take out the coupling rattle, but as a previous thread has stated, you do need to...

    Trailer coupling

trailer coupling Thanks for your reply. One reason I originally opted for this type of coupling was the fact that the tongue can be adjusted as I have had non-adjustable types in the past and was frustrated with the resulting coupling rattle. I understand at what you are saying, the adjusting...

    Trailer coupling

Hi fellow Can Am riders. I have just built a trailer for my RT and used a Pressed Steel type coupling that appears to be exactly the same as the one used in the USA on the factory built Can Am Trailers. I however on my first trip to a Rally, I had covered 60 miles when somehow the coupling came...

    Trailer Hitch control module

Hi all, just taken delivery of a new RT. This is my second Can Am and really happy with it. I have decided to fit a trailer hitch as I have towed trailers with my previous bikes, managed to purchase an after market hitch from your neck of the woods, the cost for a Can Am unit here in New Zealand...

Flashing Neutral and Reverse indication lamps / 30 tooth sprocket

flashing Gear position, N & R indication lamps Hello Freddy, both N and R indication lamps flash together and intermittently, and the gear position indicator displays Eg instead of 4 or 5g. It only happens when on the highway, no issue as yet when travelling around urban town areas. I suspect...

Flashing Neutral and Reverse indication lamps / 30 tooth sprocket

I have the feeling that you may be right with regard to the fault being documented in this manner, but other spyder riders have also said that they have not experienced any issues with the 30th sprocket modification. I have sent an enquiry to BRP, so we will see what happens there. I do feel...
