• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyder Tribe over @ Drivetribes

Hey guys! Not sure how many of you watch Top Gear, not the new one, but the Clarkson/Hammond/May series. Anyhow, they have started a driving centered social club called "Drivetribe", which you can find @ www.drivetribe.com. I received an early invite, and wanted to make sure the Spyder was...

    Random Stalling?

+1 on the vacuum hoses. I had the same problem, and both hoses were cracked all the way through.

    Clanking Sound

Do you hear the clank when going over bumps? I had a similar noise, and it turned out to be loose sway bar backets. Tightened them up, and the noise went away. Sent from my SM-G928P using Tapatalk

    Squeaky belt?

How often do you have to grease it? It seems like mine lasts for about a week or so, then I need to redo it.

Nice, and thanks for the list. This was one of the first things I read when I got my used '08 GS. I sold it last year, and included a copy of the list with the bike to help the new owners. ;)

I'd like to suggest that you add that the vacuum lines could be a problem on the manual transmission Spyders as well. My 2012 RTS was running like crap, and found both lines cracked. Put new lines in, and it runs like a top. It seems like this could be a common problem, due to the front line...

    Squeaky belt?

About the grease...I know the service guide says to use a certain BRP grease, but I am using a Valvoline synthetic grease on mine. It seems to work for a week or so, and then the squeaks come back. What type of grease is everyone using?

    Squeaky belt?

I've been researching the squeaky belt issue and ran across a post that mentioned the original "squeaky belt' for the 998, and a revised belt that I guess was more quiet. Anyone have any info on this? Sent from my SM-G928P using Tapatalk

2012 RTS SM5 rough idle, rough acceleration issue!

No, I haven't tried the disc break quiet, but I will whenever I change them. It really only does it when reversing, so I don't mind it. Now the belt....I've tried greasing it, and that works for a couple days. Granted, I'me using synthetic grease, and not the recommended BRP stuff. Belt...

2012 RTS SM5 rough idle, rough acceleration issue!

Found the issue! That was the front vacuum hose that goes right across the cylinder. I can see why that one fails! For further reference, the hoses are on the left side. You'll need to take off the mirror, upper and lower panels, as well as this black guard. You can see one of the...

2012 RTS SM5 rough idle, rough acceleration issue!

Going to dive into this this weekend. I looked in the service manual, but I must be missing something, as I can't find a clear pic of where the vacuum lines are that I need to check/replace. Anyone got a pic or diagram that would help?
