• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Heated gear: Insulated or not ?

It was quite a shock to wake up in a snowstorm on April 4rth ! I read some older discussion threads that mentionned that pretty much any heated liner would do well under an insulated jacket, since it would trap the heat and help spread it around. I also read that a non-insulated liner worn...

Heated gear: Insulated or not ?

BajaRon: I tend to ride until the temperature drops to 8-9 degrees C (46-48 deg F). Under my current jacket (an Icon Patrol), I like to wear a turtle neck ski base layer, which I was thinking of using with the heated liner under a non-insulated outer shell. Any concerns with this setup (cold...

Heated gear: Insulated or not ?

Hi, guys: I am planning on buying a Klim Gore-Tex jacket. Klim being a windprood/waterproof outer shell without insulation, I need a thermal layer and I am considering a heated liner. Things seem to narrow down to 2 different types of heated gear: the Firstgear-style "temperature neutral"...

Does anyone use MS Streets and Trips to plan routers on their Zumo?

There actually is a rather well-hidden option that allows you to download the full-detail maps onto your computer so you can see them without having to plug in your GPS: Start Garmin Express: In Map Update, click "Show Details" Select "Advanced Options" "Where would you like to install..."...

Does anyone use MS Streets and Trips to plan routers on their Zumo?

This is how I find it manageable to work with BaseCamp: (Note that I tend to plan mostly day trips, 4-8 hours in my area) I start with a work folder in which I keep only a collection of "Waypoints" that I created over time with my home and a number of waypoint set to destinations in the...

Does anyone use MS Streets and Trips to plan routers on their Zumo?

I also tried, but gave up at the end. Streets & Trips does not export mid-points along the route, so the different routing algorithms between Microsoft and Garmin yield different results. I would also not invest too much effort in Street & Trips if I were you, since the product is discontinued...

    Almost...

I actually am in a (Spyder) afterlife ;)... Enjoying every minute on my FJR. This forum is still hard to beat, in terms of knowledge base and activity level, so I keep coming back. Can't contribute as much as I used to because I am a bit out of sync, but there is still enough non...

Is This A Motorcycle Shootout? Slingshot vs. Spyder F3 vs. Morgan 3 Wheeler

The T-Rex is also made in Quebec, just like the Spyder. I suspect that some lobbying groups had a lot more money to "spend" ;) than others. ...Ben...

Is This A Motorcycle Shootout? Slingshot vs. Spyder F3 vs. Morgan 3 Wheeler

Around here, (Quebec) you need a full motorcycle driver's license to drive a T-Rex or a Slingshot, but a car driver's license plus a 1day training with no exam for a Spyder! Go figure what our provincial government masterminds are thinking... ...Ben...

Any ideas who it was who Relocated their RT's GPS?

Here's an old thread showing how a few people did it, including my own setup. (Before I sold the Spyder) http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?27123-Mounting-a-Zumo-up-high/page3&highlight=Mounting+high 'Hope it helps ...Ben...

    First Scare

I owned a 2011 RT for 2 years. It happened to me once, 2-3 months after I bought it new. It was during a very long right hand turn on the highway. It also went on limp mode. I exited the highway and stopped in a safe spot, turned it off and waited 10 mins. It came back to life as if nothing...

    2015 Can-Am Spyder Roadster Spied!

BRP worked so hard with so many jurisdictions to facilitate recognition of their trike as something that does not require a full-blown motorcycle permit that it would be very unlikely that they would venture into a leaning trike design, despite their patent. I would say do not expect to...

How to Activate Cruise Control on Base RS

This reminds me of my last car: a new 2006 Dodge Charger R/T. Chrysler did not have auto headlight option available in 2006. When it became available in 2007, I checked what parts I needed, and it was only the switch's plastic knob that had an "A" printed on it and on which the back was molded...

How many of Spyder Riders still ride motorcycles?

Everyone's different. I went back to a 2 wheeler after 2 seasons on an RT. With unlimited storage space and friendlier bank manager, I would have kept the Spyder for 2-up riding, but it only happens a couple of times a year so it is not worth it. ...Benoit...
