• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Should I Cover my Spyder While Towing?

I just received my Stinger trailer. I bought it directly from the manufacturer, who I would give a 9 out of 10 rating. I'm planning a 700 mile trip in a few weeks and was wondering if I should put the cover on while towing, or will the wind pick it up and damage it or the bike? Thoughts...

Thanks Joe. I have a Stinger trailer coming in a few weeks and was just about to ask this question.

Newbie Mistake - don't forget the rear tire when straddling pot-holes!

I learned a lesson on my ride to work yesterday. On a two wheeler, you learn to go around pot holes. In a car, I've always driven them so they pass under the middle of the car. We have a nice new assortment of potholes here in Columbus, so on my way in to work, a few popped up, and I steered...

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

Then we agree. We all have different ways of conveying the same message. I split the middle and use 89. I see no reason to not use 87, and to be honest if the price keeps heading north, I may have to use 87 so there's enough cash left to pay the mortgage!

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

So I reread my post but couldn't find the part where I said that other Syder owners have reported this problem over and over. It was a general comment about the damage that pre-ignition can cause. I thought that the way I stated it was better than "pinging is bad."

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

The octane rating essentially impacts the engine's ability to resist ping (called pre-ignition in the days of yore). A higher octane fuel allows the ECM to push a more advanced (think aggressive) timing. That's where the power boost comes from. The actual energy in a gallon of 87 is really...

2015 RT Brake pulls left & low fluid after fluid change? Ideas?

I know I'm late to the party, but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. I spent quite a few years working on brakes (but on cars, not Spyders). When a car would come in with these symptoms we'd check first for a seized caliper, then for an imploded brake hose. The brake hose thing happens much...

ZUMO 660 Mounting Bracket / Spring Servicing

Hello from Columbus, OH. I bought a 2013 RT Ltd last Fall. The mount for the Zumo 660 is there, but the GPS itself is gone. I really don't need a GPS, but I'd like to use the space for a phone mount, maybe a RAM. Does anyone know of an adaptor that will allow me to use the existing mount and...
