• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Departing the pattern

Thanks for all the kind replies. The Miata is lots of fun to drive but its not something I'd ever want to daily or take on long trips. It wasn't that long ago that I was thinking about getting a newer model but my wife suggested we find something else to use as our Toad/Dingy when we go...

    Departing the pattern

Its been a good ride, but I'm moving on from bikes for now. Sold the BMW about a month ago and the Spyder went on Monday to a new owner up in Richmond. Appreciate the help of the group and hopefully I've been of some help as well. In the mean time I have a new weekend ride to tool around...

2010 RS Still Roadtripping Like a Champ

Love to hear it. My 2010 RT is still chugging along too. Just took it on a recent camping trip as our TOAD. Has a few little issues be she keeps on chugging.

Re TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEMS. Which one?

I've used one of the car based systems for years now. I think FOBO is overpriced for what it is. I don't need it to alarm through my phone or anything else as I can just glance over and see what the pressures are. The sensors look identical to what the car based displays use. If you don't...

What bike did you ride to get your motorcycle license ??

Sometime in the mid 70's on my brothers CB 350. Then I didn't ride for another 40 years till about 2016.

Looking for ideas to haul/trailer an RT and an HD?

I see you also asked about tying it down. This is how we carry the RT behind the coach. I had wheel chocks made for the trailer and drive it up and forward till they touch and then set the brake. I use some fairly heavy web straps to secure the A arms to the front and put a strap through the...

Looking for ideas to haul/trailer an RT and an HD?

It will be a fairly big trailer to haul both. Maybe a side loader if you can find one. You could look for trailers for ATV's . One thing to keep in mind though is the approach angle with the Spyder, that nose is pretty low to the ground and you could grind it a bit if you aren't careful. You...

First of 2 Shoulder Replacements Done!

For those that don't know, a reverse is when they put the ball on the body side rather than the arm side where it normally sits. It's usually done when there is too much damage to the rotator cuff and you would then run the risk of dislocating the shoulder too easily. The downside is that you...

First of 2 Shoulder Replacements Done!

Good luck. I had my right done about 3 years ago. Surprise to me it turned out to be a reverse. Not a fun recovery especially if you are a side sleeper.

took my wife on a yarn crawl

A couple of years ago we had the bike up in PA somewhere near Lancaster while we were camping. We were driving along and she whacks me in the head and starts yelling "Yarn store, yarn store". I executed a hasty 180 and pulled into the place, which didnt look like much more than a house along...

Is there a seating position chart?

Cycle Ergo will give you a good idea of the different bikes and how you will fit. https://cycle-ergo.com You can input your height and inseam and can even add a passenger with their data as well.

Check out this Heat shrink tubing for DIY'ers!

I got some of those a while back since they looked like a great idea. At least on the ones I got, it took a long time to get the solder to flow while the heat shrink part really shrivels up quickly. It seems like you can apply too much heat for the heat shrink while the solder takes it's time...

Check out this Heat shrink tubing for DIY'ers!

I've been using heat shrink for years. Another good local supplier is Harbor Freight (or Horror Fright, take your pick) where they sell an assortment of 9 pieces in 3 sizes for a buck fifty. https://www.harborfreight.com/9-piece-heat-shrink-wire-wrap-assortment-96024.html
