• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

for those that need reading glasses

For those of us who don't have/use/want a full face helmet, or who ride without a helmet, there are dozens of sunglass/goggle options too - here's one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-reader-sunglasses-reading-riding-sunglasses-/300483206249 Some of these are good choices and $10 a pair (2...

    BRP Backrest for Comfort Seat

I found a small lot of BLACK BRP backrests for the Comfort seat at $350 each - new. That's still over my threshold of pain, so if interested, look to Fleabay.

    New Spyder Rider

:welcome: It will take you 200 to 300 miles to adjust to the Spyder. Plan on doing a single long trip to do this, and stay OFF the major highways - use the winding back roads. One of the initial issues many have is the "death grip", causing you to tire early, and get sore. I have recommended...

    Some Spyder Observations

Me too - 3 MG -TDs, 4 Austin Healey 3000s, two MGBs, and one MG C (the straight 6 version). In fairness, the ISCI handbrake does exactly the same job as the foot brake on the Spyder, because it just actuates the footbrake. For those with leg/foot issues, or just the need to use one, the...

How do you secure your helmet when parked?

There's a new vendor with bar end locks - look @ the Home Page. Since I only use a 1/2 helmet, mine goes in one of the saddlebags.

Need to stiffen the front Shocks a bit.

I have both Ron's sway bar AND Doc's stiffeners. The stiffeners are a snap to install, and do the job. Ron's bar helps flatten corners, and eliminate 18 wheeler wobbles, and the stiffeners keep the front off the tarmac.

    Windshield Motor Suport Arm

Yes - and it came from "noboot" in Australia. It was $120, but worth every dime. There's also installation instructions in the DYI section, and reading that is CRITICAL. If you do it wrong, your windshield will no longer work. Mine was NOT cracked, but I replaced it anyway.

    Spyder RT Generations?

Look at the ST "LTD" for her - storage, has a trailer hitch, and most of the nice amenities, at a lower price point.

    Evolution of the RT?

My dealer does, and has this orange kludge that allows one to quickly test the various positions available. Honda has the Goldwing and Valk (albeit very similar bikes) targeted for different markets, and having pricing similar to the Spyder line ($18 to $36K). Buyers of one rarely look at the...

    Spyder RT Generations?

In one word - Don't. The 2013 was the conversion year, with a host of issues. Look at any of the 2010/2011/2012s - especially the 2012s, if you are looking at the older 990 generation RT. All of those are good choices.
