• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Len from Pitbull Powersports did some cool videos on the RT

I think we need to pitch in and buy Len a helmet cam for these events.

    Water Pump Ruins the season

I noticed oil on the floor of the garage. I did notice a little coolant but not anywhere near as much as the oil. When I got under the bike there was oil all along the underside. I rode it a couple months and monitored it. Cleaned the airbox out a couple times (there was very little oil in...

    Water Pump Ruins the season

I really don't know the specifics of the parts but it sounds fairly involved. It sounds like a assembly of parts. I know there are some seals. If I heard correctly its the impeller that is backordered the longest. Another part until Oct. I don't think its something that can be canibalized...

    Water Pump Ruins the season

Dealer called to confirm, my water pump failed. Parts are backordered until 11/14/2013. We bought our first Spyder in 2009 and this RT in 2011 but its been a frustrating ride. My riding season lasts from Apr through late Oct/Nov. Between new throttle bodies, blown shock, O2 sensors and now...

    Windshield recommendation

I'm the same as you. 5'7" 30" inseam and I bought a CalSci medium clear windshield. Works great. I can see over it all the way down and through it when up. Took a lot of pressure off my arms and chest when riding to and from Spyderfest. My wife says it made a big difference in back compared...

    CalSci windscreen issues

I mounted ours on 2011 RT (CalSci medium / clear) before we left for Spyderfest. Went on without any issue. Uninstalled old and intalled new in less than 15 minutes. As far as the rain issue I size my windscreens so that I can see over them during the rain. This is a standard in motorcycling...

What to do in the rain...

My wife and I also did the Tiger tour. It was a neat place, and our second favorite passport stop after the distillery.

    SpyderFest 2013 Round Trip Miles

1350 total for us. 3 year spyderfest low due to the rain, but still had a great time.

    Gloves

Find yourself some thinner, tighter fitting gloves or glove liners. Go to farm and fleet or Menards type store and get a set of rubber gauntlet style glove used for handling chemicals. Mine are wells and Lamont brand. The combination is perfect for cool weather with the liners. The gauntlet...

    Helmets and Comm system

My wife and I just bought two of the new Bell Mag-9 Sena versions. We were going to get the Bell Mag-9's this year anyway and with the newly introduced Sena integration it was a no brainer. We have rode a couple hundred miles with them so far and like them better than our previous setups with...

    Compact Camping Chairs

REI is where I bought our two camping chairs. This one folds up and fits into the compartments. We use them for backpacking and canoe trips. http://www.rei.com/product/829239/rei-flex-lite-chair

Clanking noise when rear wheel hits bump

Had same thing on 2011 RT at 600mi. Blown shock was the culprit. I forget what exactly was making the noise but it was parts of the shock clanking together.

    Pitbulls secret SPYDERFEST pie run

Add two more in. Gonna be hard to beat last years run but I have faith.

What Vendors Do You Want For SF2013?

I would like to see some windshield vendors with installation. I agree with the earlier post of wider gear selection. BRP, Firstgear, maybe a couple of the bigger manufactures with their riding apparel. From our first Spyderfest I have told the wife it would be nice to see some mechanic /...
