• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for toy hauler-tow vehicle recommendations

Utah Pete... grateful thanks for the incisive, critical thinking, along with alternative suggestions. Exactly the thing I need at this point. Nothing better than chatting/listening to those who have 'been there, done that'. Perhaps you're already aware of some luxury fifth-wheel toy haulers, but...

Looking for toy hauler-tow vehicle recommendations

Brentc... appreciate your thoughts. I will certainly check out your recommendations. I believe in doing a lot of 'homework' before actually buying, and you have given me a good lead. Thanks. Wasn't previously aware of this brand or layout.

Looking for toy hauler-tow vehicle recommendations

WDAVEY... sincere thanks for your down-to-earth and realistic thoughts. You're not raining on my parade at all; I appreciate the input. Those are points that have also passed between my ears Also have to agree with your assessment of FL real estate (and manufactured home) values. When I sold my...

Looking for toy hauler-tow vehicle recommendations

I am used to hauling my Spyder F3L to FL each winter on my tag-along 14' aluminum trailer behind my Jeep, and spending 5 months at a manufactured home in a great little park. However, as a result of Covid and consequent inability to cross-border travel by vehicle for two years (2020-21), I sold...

Best way to trailer F3 Limited?

Before I even bought and paid for my 2017 F3L, I knew I wanted to be able to use it 12 months a year. I live in Ontario, Canada, and have a winter place in mid-Florida, so I was going to need a trailer. I was lucky, and found an aluminum, home-made rig, purposely built to haul the...

    New Spyder Rant - Update

There is no issue then as far as year and model. The problem is one of condition upon delivery. You ordered, bought and paid for "new". You have every right to expect that. Seems proper dealer prep and detail are lacking. You are being fair in giving them a chance to comply. If they don't do...

    New Spyder Rant - Update

When you say you "bought" a new 2020 RTL on Dec. 4, I think you use the wrong terminology. No such bike was in stock at the dealer; one had to be found. What you really did, in essence, was to "order" a new 2020 RTL, for which you paid upfront and unseen. Here, again, I struggle to comprehend...

    Ultimate Seats showroom

I'm with Tango Tom on this one. Totally surprised at the type of reception you felt you received at Ultimate. The two guys who own and operate Ultimate are top notch at great customer relations and service; you usually can't find better. They do whatever to help satisfy. Perhaps ask around on...

Tyre Question - Different Topic... advantages using different tires front vs rear?

John, in your original post you state: "I was always under the impression that for best handling and stability use the same tyre/tread pattern front to rear" yet this is not true even for the OEM Kendas that come with a Spyder. The brand is the same, but the tread pattern between front and...

    Pre hibernation battery charge/maintainer options

Decision time... helpful advice welcome! This is a very timely post for me to read. Thanks for starting it, B. Question: I have a 2017 F3L. This will be the first winter I have not ridden it year-round. Unable/unlikely to get to FL this year, so I am about to store it in a cold shed in...

Question abourt Freedom Windshields on F3T

Hey ulflyer, maybe I can add a few comments to try and help. I'm 5' 10", stocky build, about 29" inseam, ride a 2017 F3L with bars in regular position, feet in #4 position. I've been 20,000 miles on my Spyder over the past 3 years, and have tried about 5 different shields. It's very much a...

    Windshield extension

I ride with an X-creen 'Tour' clamp-on style extension on my 2017 F3L. Been almost 20,000 miles without problems; used with several different makes and sizes of windshield (BRP short stock, BRP Tall Boy, F4, etc.). Currently using in conjunction with Lamonster Freedom 17". The X-creen allows...

Want to test ride an F3L

Just a word of caution. The F3L will give you a different seating position from your RTL; however, that does not automatically also translate into no numb butt - the stock seat on the F3L can also be a pain in your butt. I wound up buying a 2017 F3L because my hips just could not tolerate being...

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

Well, since others are still replying to this 11-year-old thread, maybe I'm not too late to join in.... I'm often asked 'why?' I would ever pick such an "ugly" or unattractive name as "bushrat". Turned out, I was not exactly alone in my choice, as I had to become bushrat22 before I could get it...
