• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What do you think of the 'New for 2025 - Spyder Canyon'?

I wonder how this thing will do in the snow? There are times in my neck of the woods during early Spring when I've gone riding and have had a section of the road with snow. Even going slowly the Spyder RTL can't handle it (no traction).

    Front Sprocket Correction at Dealership

I just called my dealer to schedule an oil change for my 2017 and had hoped the front sprocket would also be replaced. According to the service department they still haven't received any of the new sprockets. I know BRP says even in the recall notice that there are supply chain issues but this...

    Fault code P0340

In my case, the dealer had a three week wait before he could even look at my Spyder. The only reason I waited and took it in was because it was still under (extended) warranty. My understanding is that it's not too difficult to replace yourself. If you do take it to the dealer, I'd make sure...

2023 rumors - anyone heard anything about the 2023 release?

I would be all in for a shaft drive.

Need Warranty work done - should I remove mods first?

Agree with this statement, year, model, and codes would help. If the codes are related to the mod then it might be good to remove the mod and see if the codes clear on their own. If the codes aren't related...your mods shouldn't be a factor. The only mods I remove are the ones I want to protect...

    Fault code P0340

Today my Spyder was serviced for the P0340 code and indeed it needed the camshaft position sensor. Normally they wouldn't have had the part and I would have waited another week for the Spyder to get serviced. But with the confidence this forum gave me, I ordered the part ahead of time so it was...

    Fault code P0340

And I would have appreciated that. I told my wife when this happened it's too bad it was at the beginning of the trip instead of the end because I could have found someone related to DW3 that likely could fix this for me. I'm hoping my dealer has the part when my appointment arrives

    Fault code P0340

Well, last week I was heading out to the Three-Wheeler Rally in Deadwood and with only 20 miles into the trip, my 2017 Spyder RTL went into limp home mode. Error code P0340. Got it home and thankfully my wife and I were able to share her Spyder for the rest of the week. I spent a part of it as a...

    Leaving key in ignition

Good discussion as I always wondered too about the whole key/chip possibly causing battery or startup issues. Good to know there is no impact. With regards to the practice of leaving the key in the ignition when in the garage...wouldn't recommend it if you have a child or grandchild in the...

After advice from couples that ride separate bikes.

My wife and I take turns on who is leading. It's about a 50/50 split. More times than not it's the flow of traffic and switching lanes that will cause us to change who is the lead. When we ride with a large group of course we would remain in position, but when it's just the two of us the...

Interesting news out of BRP on electrification.

Exactly. And perhaps where we can recharge when on the road.

Interesting news out of BRP on electrification.

From what I read, the sales of small-gas engines (mowers, snow blower, leave blower, etc) would be banned by 2024 and portable gas-powered generators by 2028. Well at least it bans the sales and not the use. Despite having converted to all battery-powered for my mower, snow blower, and outdoor...

Dealer service calls for new rear tire & brake pads - does this sound right?

Without getting too off topic, from my experience, it's not the tread via distance that wears out the "average" travel trailer first but the walls of the tire giving out (especially if it's sitting in place weeks and months at a time). It's not too uncommon to see tire trailers with "like new"...

Interesting news out of BRP on electrification.

I didn't realize the new Maverick pickup was a hybrid...glad you're liking it. With regards to a Spyder Hybrid, about 10 years ago Can-Am did develop a concept version. Not sure why Can-Am decided not to pursue the hybrid version and go all-in on electric instead. Video below shows the Spyder...
