• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Tires

I drove the wife's Spyder into town this afternoon and they put the new Q5 tires on it. I can't really do an adequate job of relating the difference before/after. Driving into town on the stock tires, home on the new Q5 units. Absolutely night and day difference. I want to thank all the...

    New Tires

Just came home from tire shop putting new Quadratrac 5 165-60x15 tires on my Spyder. Wow, no one was kidding, it makes a new ride out of it. So much smoother and tracking is so much cleaner. Can't believe the difference. Running 16.5 air pressure to split the difference between those with 16...

    New Tires

What is wrong with KUMHO ECSTA AST for a rear tire? It comes in the exact replacement size, tread pattern looks similar????

    New Tires

Not to hijack a thread, but is anyone running the Vredestein Quadratrac 5 tires in the front at 165/60x15 and the Kuhmo Ecsta on the rear in the stock size which is available? On the surface that looks to be a good combination but I don't know for sure. It sounds like those new tires and a...

    Sticking brake

Anyone have an issue with a front brake sticking? It is my understanding the electric parking brakes have been a huge issue on 2018 RT Limited models which is what we have, 2 of them. But I also believe the parking brake only impacts the back tire? Mine sadly has on 3-4 occasions had the...

    Laser alignment

I would suggest a phone call before adventuring out. 2 of the places listed in CA have been out of business a good number of years.

replace or not to replace, that is the question

Lodi Thanks for the info. Sadly the dealer in Lodi is long gone and the web site is several years behind in an update. I will investigate other options in the general area and get the alignment soon.

replace or not to replace, that is the question

From what I can glean from this wonderful forum, the OEM tires on Spyders leave a lot to be desired. I only found evidence of one rider who liked them. I am of the opinion they are the major cause of the bike "tracking" way too much of our refined and smooth road surfaces here in central CA...

    Tire pressue

Thanks, that clears up my confusion. Does the handling improve enough with a tire swap to bag the OEM tires and put on new ones? If so, what is the consensus of the best solution for better handling?

    Tire pressue

I recall seeing some threads that highly recommend running the front tires at 16 and the rear tire at 18. The manual calls for 20 in front, 28 in the rear. I have basically new 2018 RT Limited bikes. Wife likes to have her own. I have installed comfort seat heated, the backrest that goes...

    iPhone USB connect and charge?

Just a crazy thought, but make sure the phone likes your cord. IPhones can be fussy about 3rd party cords, so would confirm that before making a long trip.

What is the consensus on best gear? I have no experience in many years on aftermarket accessories and appreciate any input.

Great helmet with comm gear built in

Wife and I just picked up 2 new Spyder RT Limited. They are left over 2018 models in Champagne/chrome. Love them so far. Honestly quite different than 2 wheels which I rode a lot of in my younger days (Goldwings back when they were king of the road.) Any riders have experience with...
