• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New 2015 RT Dies on the Road

yep...like the energizer bunny. I was cruising about 70 on the highway when I decided to give the right thumb a rest by raising it over the throttle grip and hit the kill switch by mistake. The bike stopped running, of course, but as soon as I realized what happened and turned the switch...

Fourth go around for the DESS problem.

Update on DESS repair. Well...I got the bike back after 22 days in the shop. Rode it for a week and so far, no DESS orange screen yet. However, I was pulling the side panel to access the horn and noticed that the dealer had put the panel on with the front lower peg broken off. The peg was...

Year and model Hi Deanna. I have a 2014 RTL. Have been riding quite a bit with frequent starts and so far, no issues to report. :dontknow:

Fourth go around for the DESS problem.

Part # confusion. Yes Dianna, I was a bit confused as well. The first replacement DESS module part # was 710004190 per my invoice. I understood this to be the replacement for the "bad" module. This one also was problematic. I did not, however, have the ignition replaced. When the dealer sent...

Fourth go around for the DESS problem.

DESS followup Well guys and gals...I finally have the Spyder back after a 3 week hostage ordeal. The dealership contacted BRP about the magnet and it IS supposed to be installed with the new module. The new modules that are shipped to the dealers DO NOT come with this magnet. I wonder if...

Fourth go around for the DESS problem.

SESS update. So the saga continues.... So this has turned into a 3 week cluster #%*&! In all fairness, BRP has come through with flying colors. The dealership (RideNow in Surprise Arizona), is about the most irresponsible, incompetent, lying bunch of turds. I was contacted by Pascale from...

Fourth go around for the DESS problem.

DESS followup So to follow up on the DESS debacle. I did as suggested and took the :spyder2: to the dealer and asked for them to open a case with BRP. They again, interrogated with BUDS, and finding nothing wrong, gave me the :spyder2: back. I asked if a case had been opened and was told...

Fourth go around for the DESS problem.

Thought about interference I thought about interference from blue tooth devices etc. I always start the bike before turning on the SM10 so as to pair with all devices without a problem.

Fourth go around for the DESS problem.

No plug ins I have nothing plugged into the trunk outlets. It's strange but it rarely occurs when the Spyder has been parked for a long time. It happens mostly after I have been driving and then stop briefly like the store or gas. Maybe a coincidence?

Thanks for the help guys. Thanks to all for the info and suggestions. I will use them going forward and hopefully get some resolution. Just want to be confident I won't be stranded somewhere remote. Arizona is mostly remote.

Thanks Deanna Thanks for the info Deanna. Looked at your previous thread. Some good info there. Going to dealer today with lots of ammo (information). I'll follow up and let you know how it goes. Planning some long rides and just lack confidence in the Spyder at this point. Other than the...

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the ignition switch hard wired to the DESS or, as is my understanding, the system is wireless and the key code is transmitted to the DESS? If it is wireless, then as has been previously mentioned, there is an antenna on the ignition switch for transmission of the key code information to the...

Fourth go around for the DESS problem.

Hey guys. I know that there are many who have experienced the dreaded DESS orange screen multiple times even after having the module replaced. I was wondering if anyone out there has found a resolution to this problem yet? I have been stranded for the umteenth time now from this issue. My...
