• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

OEM Rear Tire SHOT at 2,500 miles

tire wear I have a 2012 RT with 9577 miles and the tires look like they did with 100 miles on them. They are OEM Kendas. As far as tire wear is concerned, I have a Star Stratoliner and never get more than 6000 miles on a set. I have to buy new ones every year.

Took a trip on my Spyder to Northern MN.

Trip I also have a little over 6000 miles on my 2012 RT and am about to take my first trip of any length. I am heading from the St. Louis area to Elkhart Lake WI to watch 4 days of Grand Am and American Le Mans series racing. I have been there several times and it is a great time. You can get...

    Oil level

oil consumption Get used to it. These things use oil; more than any other vehicle I have ever driven or ridden in my 66 years. My mechanic said even BRP will tell you that. The last oil change, I complained to the mechanic that I always have to add oil. When I went to pick it up he said I had...

    Oil Consumption

I make sure the bike is level and engine is warm. I give it time for the oil to settle into the pan. I pull out the dip stick and clean it off. I screw it all the way down and then remove it to check. What else can I do?

    Oil Consumption

I am pretty new to to the Spyder and this forum and my topic may have been discussed previously. If so, I apologize. I have 3100 miles on a 2012 RT SE5 and have used a quart of oil so far. I follow all manual directions regarding checking the oil and last time I checked there was no oil showing...

Brake Failure Code due to worn rear pads

Reply: Not all brakes make dust. I just changed the pads on my 4 runner after over 100,000 miles on the original set with no brake dust ever seen. Now I do have brake dust because I foolishly bought an inferior brand to save a few buck.

Brake Failure Code due to worn rear pads

Sub par brakes and Brake Failure Message I found this thread by accident and hope it is still being monitored by those in the know. I bought a RT SE5 in July and have 2800 miles ± on it as I write. For 2 weeks I have been getting "Brake Failure" messages when I start the bike, hit the brake...

    Does your Spyder squeal?

Squeak I also have a squeak or squeal when moving the spyder slowly after first starting up. It is inconsistent and intermittent and doesn't happen every time. Of course, once I proceed, the engine noise masks the squeak if it is still there. This makes it impossible to diagnose

UNRESOLVED VIBRATION ISSUES ON 2012 RT LIMITED

Vibration Mine RT SE5 (2 months old 3000 miles) vibrates at 4000 rpm and 5000 rpm. After 4200 and 5200 the vibration disappears. Since there is no other apparent adverse effect, I have just been living with it.
