Tonight I took photos of my RAM mount cup holder. This installation came as a result of not wanting my holder on the moving handle bars as most of the available mounts for Spyders are designed to be done. This is on an RT Limited, but the idea could be adapted to almost any model Spyder.
The 1st picture you can see where I mounted the RAM ball to the dash. It's just above the speaker. I used a large fender washer on the underside to keep it from pulling through the plastic dash. The swinging cup holder is connected to the mounting ball with a short RAM mount. I think it is 2 inches.
The 2nd photo I have my water bottle insulated holder in the swinging cup to show how it looks.
The 3rd photo is to show that even in a full turn the handle bars clear the water bottle/cup holder and does not interfere with steering.
I find this much better than hanging liquids from the moving handle bars. I've had this installed 2 1/2 years now without any issues.
