• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. IN FOR THE RECALL

Dropped the RT off at the dealer today. It immediately went into the service bay. Mine will be the first that they do.:pray: I mentioned to the owner that I knew that BRP is allowing 6 hours for the recall work to be done. He kind of chuckled and said "more like ten". But, he said he would call me in a couple of days because he wants to get it back to me by the weekend. Hope springs eternal!

You will be happy with the modifications....
My wife had her "Baby" done last Thursday, she took it for a two day 550 mile trip. If was a beautiful ride to Watkins Glen, NY.
Very happy to report that the "Heat Issue" is cured and no more gas smell or boiling gas. I haven't run the actual numbers yet but it appears that the Gas Mileage has not suffered.

Glad to hear that your Baby is getting the work done!!
From all of the reports that we've seen; you're going to be happy!:yes::yes:

The good side...

Everyone seems to be happy with the fix so far. No negative reports that I am aware of.

Let them take their time and get it right the first time.:yes:

Mine was the first one my dealer did . . . said it took him six hours.

All in all, I'd rather be the first one, than a bit later in the queue . . . there are lots of pages of instructions, and I suspect that during the first one, most techs will be slow and methodical, as they go through the steps, one at a time, referring to the directions, frequently. After they have done a few, and they "know" what they are doing, they may not be as meticulous in getting every step right! The point where that happens will differ with the techs, as will the number of minor errors.

I am very happy with the results.

I had the recall done last Monday (6-15-2015). Took the mechanic 6 hours to do the recall and he said it was the second one he's done. I was able to watch him and he took his time and did a great job.

Now I never had the heat or gas fume issues that others reported. I also have done no modifications to the Spyder to fix the heet issues except for the SpyderPops upper block off plate which didn't do a whole lot. The only problem I had was the right foot dragon.
I can report (like most everyone else) that the engine does sound a bit louder, the bike definitely runs cooler and there is no gas smell or boiling whatsoever. I still have some heat on the right foot but it's not as bad as it was. I haven't really check the mileage yet but it seems to be about the same as it was before the recall.

All in all, I think recall is doing the job. I only wish BRP would have solved this issue sooner. Adam at Metro Harley/Suzuki/Can Am in Ceder Rapids, IA did a great job.

Did you have it done at Seymour's or Progressive? I dropped mine off at Seymour's tonight.

I just got the call, and mine goes in Friday. I believe it will be their first one since they did not know about the recall when I called last Thursday. Luckily I just bought the RT 3 weeks ago and did not have to deal with the issues for long, especially since it was almost 110 degrees here today.

Welcome aboard..

See it is your first post. Welcome to all things Spyder.

I took mine in on the 6th of June, and picked it up a week later on the 13th of June. It is 200 hundred miles from my house to the dealer. My ride home after pick up was AWESOME, it was hot in the central valley in California and through the mountains my bike temp gauge read as high as 107 to 109 during the trip. Each time I stopped for gas I felt the panels, and under the seat, they were cool to the touch. In the past I had experienced the heat, gas fumes and all of that on different occasions. This was the first trip where I experienced NONE of that. The trip was awesome and it was hot enough that I had to break out the wet vest for me rather early in the ride. The bike did wonderfully, and thus far I have to say that this fix has taken care of all the issues that have been reported thus far. It was a nice treat to pull into the garage, park the bike and not have to worry about gas fumes filling the garage. Even my wife comment that it appeared I was having a good time on the ride as she was following in the car. LOL So for the first 200 plus miles it seems to have done the trick. Good luck everyone I hope you all have the same experience. Thank YOU Elk Grove Power Sports!!!! You guys rock....

I was at seymours today looking at a 13 rt limited that needs to have it done and they said that they have about 30 bikes they have to do and haven't done one yet so you guys will be the first. I'm sure they will do a great job they are very thorough . Which is why I am considering the used 13 limited over a new base st
