• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Elio Trike

One of the reasons for such a low price point is likely the Elio compnay relying on the fact that it will be titled as a motorcycle and not have to meet all the automobile safety and smog requirements levied by the Fed. I would want a standard rear camera with these things as a passenger in the middle of the rear would allow only outside rear view mirrors to be of use.

I would like to see them in production. Will I ever see them in production, no. No idea how many years it has been said, production will start next next year in ????

Slingshot is still fighting the battle over what, if anything it is. Somebody ??? said, a couple of the six states that would NOT allow them to licensed have changed the law to something called "Auto-Cycle". Under current Ohio law, hey are motorcycles have m?c rules to operate.

Never will see them on the road. They've been saying they were a year away from delivery..... For 8 years or more.
Don't be fooled.

Reservarion

I've got a reservation for one, think it's # 10,004 but I can't remember for sure. I was pretty excited for the first year or two. I think it's a good concept but knew all along they would have difficulty financing it. To many reasons for other companies not to want it to happen.
It was pretty sharp at first concept with the open exposed front tires, then they had to put those ugly fenders on it to achieve the MPG goal.
I wanted an Elio way before I knew Spyder existed. If I ever do get it I will take the fenders off and forget about getting 84mpg. Think about it, cut the top off and it would be like having a front wheel drive Spyder :yes::yes:

Sorry to say, but you'll never take delivery. It's nothing more than a barely legal scam. These would also never be or feel anything like a Spyder. Maybe more like a moped with 3 wheels.

I don't know how the Elio people can sleep at night after bilking thousands of people out of millions of dollars.

:agree: Anything to help create jobs in this Country!
The SlingShot is getting it's place on the roads sorted out... Connecticut has gotten their act together.
Texas still needs to work it out, and a couple more.

The thing I'm worried about is the feds deciding to come up with a "new class" of vehicle, with a whole bunch of new regulations.

Texas did, a couple of days ago. The SS is same as a motorcycle except passenger foot pegs aren't required! :roflblack:

Remember the Tucker.
Tucker did the same thing and managed to build about 50 cars, but then was shut down by a trial.

It is amazing how this keeps coming back.

Last week from various internet sources>

:ani29:: Production now moved up to mid 2016
:ani29:: The engine manufacturer they plan to use, went out of business and defunct about 10 years ago.
:ani29:: Elio claims to have 46,000 pre orders.
:ani29:: They still do not have a running prototype.
:ani29:: The traveling dog and pony show continues. Maybe P. T. Barnum was right.

I don't think I will be looking for employment with the firm.
Still not rushing to put down a deposit.

As far as "men of vision" goes--my vision is directed at consumers not getting screwed out of their hard earned money.

Where's The Beef?
