• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

9000 Mile service

Called my dealer yesterday to set-up appointment for 9000 oil change. He asked if this was just an oil change or 9000 service. I thought we just needed an oil change not any other work. Is this true or is he looking at getting more money?:gaah:

Did you read your manual? :dontknow:
Everything is listed in there, and in pretty great detail... :D

See page 121. Other than the B.U.D.S. update, most everything other than the oil change is in the check or inspect category that you can do yourself.

If your first service is at 3,000 your second service would be at 12,000 miles.

Yep! A good point. 3,000 then 12,000 (9000 miles later), then every 9000 or once a year--whichever comes first.

It is going to vary for a lot of us.

My first was actually at 4,500--a week later than prescribed--could not make it in at 3000. Then--did it at the beginning of this year 9,500 or so on the odometer. Now coming up on 15,000. Looking like I will have a change at 18,000 or so this season--don't think I will make it to 27K for another--this season.

Isn't all this math fun? :roflblack:

Dealer did my 3000 check up/oil change told me to bring back at 9000 miles for oil change. Had it done told me to bring it back at 15000 miles. So that every 6000 mile for oil. I like that because I just don't believe they make a blended oil that would hold up to 9000 miles between oil change.

There have been some big discussions pro and con about the new oil change intervals for the 1330 triple engines.

Mine is most likely going to be changed earlier than recommended, most of the time, since I like to start out fresh and checked out at the beginning of every riding season.

I do side with those that do not believe that BRP would have longer oil change intervals if it were detrimental to the 1330 engine. I do know that they were trying to make maintenance less expensive though. Six of one, half dozen of the other??
