There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. So I can find a can am kit p/n 219400322 that includes the mount and connector for the GPS on an RT. My question is does anyone know where to get just the plug without the mount or a part number for it? I want to hook it up to the factory plug for the audio but am going to mount the GPS up on a JT dash bar so I won't need that handlebar mount.

Thanks for any help

What year is your Spyder and what GPS are you trying to hook up. It makes a difference.

2015 RT. I bought the Garmin 660. It came with the motorcycle cradle and wiring harness. Just need the pigtail that hooks to the spyder side.

I'm sure it would be like the 2014 RT. The two cables you need to connect to, power and audio, are already there under the tupperware somewhere at the back end of the gas tank. 2013 and earlier you needed the bike side harness pigtail to plug into the bike harness to provide the two cables.

Actually in 2015 they added a Micro USB plug that is powered as part of the GPS harness!
Several people on FB have shown pictures asking what it was. We all finally figured it out :)

But the sad part is the USB plug is only 1 amp. I it will not charge a iPhone 6+

So this power plug on the 2015 GPS harness is for a USB plug? Thats good to know I was going to Measure the voltage to see if it's 12v or 5v because USB is 5v.

That is not the USB plug.

You get the Mini USB plug with the new BRP GPS cradle and cable. Your seeing the bike side of the cable not the GPS side.

I just used the wiring that came with the 660 on my 14 RTS I also have the JT mount on dash the dealer ran wires down where windshield is no holes drilled on dash. Works with radio fine.:yes::yes:

How did you connect the 3.5mm plug to your RT? My harness that came with the Garmin only has a female plug. I am looking for the male side to integrate into the bike. Do you have any photos you could post? I am mounting mine on the dash via RAM mounts but would love a great reference for the wiring.

Thanks

As was said in previous posts. The connectors to hook up the GPS are already installed in a 2014/15 RT. The connectors are located on the right side, at the rear of the fuel tank. There are 2 connectors. See picture in one of the previous posts. The stereo audio just plugs into the Garmin GPS harness. The switched 12v power source is a 2 wire waterproof plug. Likely should be able to get a pigtail to wire the GPS harness or go the crude way and cut the plug off and wire direct.

Here is what it looks like. This is a 2015 with the new GPS harness that shows a micro USB connector.
