Blue Ridge observations

I installed the windshield Monday. I went riding Tuesday. As expected the BR protects below the neck. The blast of wind hitting my head is much stronger than with no windshield, but there is virtually no side wind so there is less head movement. The wind noise is much worse, to the point I almost cannot hear the engine exhaust and no engine noise at all. If I had my radio, I would not be able to listen to it. I will be getting an extension for the BR ASAP. Another positive for the BR is there was no grit peppering my neck or face. I don't know why not, but that is much nicer. There are simple observations.

The bottom line is still, I really like my F3!

My wife did a 5 mile trial with the BR shield and said she'd much rather have no shield at all. Installed a 14" Madstad and she loves it! The various adjustments allow her to completely block the wind, get a good airflow on a hot ride, or any combo between those two. Zero buffeting reported by her.

I next replaced the whole thing with the Madstad 20".....infinitely adjustable in seconds. It puts the main wind blast about 6" above my head when adjusted for touring speeds. Just my 2 cents worth.

I next replaced the whole thing with the Madstad 20".....infinitely adjustable in seconds. It puts the main wind blast about 6" above my head when adjusted for touring speeds. Just my 2 cents worth.

That's my experience as well.

The sweet spot is about 80mph. The machine really hums right along.

I have the Blue Ridge windshield and it is not enough for me. How much higher does the X-creen raise the total height and can you give an estimate on where the wind hits you over the windshield?

The X-Creen that will fit the blue ridge,is only about 2" high if I remember correctly, but you can raise it about another inch, then you can change the angle of attack to move the wind around,. For me it raised the wind blast to hitting the top of my helmet. It makes it way better, but still falls short of the Madstad. IMHO ,buy the madstad and sell the blue ridge to help pay for it.
