• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ACS suspension issues...maybe?

This popped up in my thread about moving up from a GS to an RT, so I thought this forum would be a better place for it.

On my 2012 RT-S, the compressor seems to run more than it should, especially riding two up. Thinking I may have a leak, I checked the pressure under the seat this morning, and it seems to have lost 3lbs. or so overnight, which I suspect is just from me checking the valve.

Things I have checked: The valve core was a tad loose, so I snugged it down. I see no bubbles there or around the schrader valve. The linkage seems fine that connects the sensor to the swing arm. Looking at the pics on here as well as the service manual, the arm is not backwards.

I plan on removing panels, and checking everything for leaks, but if it is holding air overnight, it seems like that may not be the issue.

What it is doing is upon first start the compressor may run a couple seconds, but that is it. As I am riding, I really can't tell what it is doing, but if I stop at a light/intersection, it may kick on for a couple more seconds, but not always. If I am riding two up, it seems to kick on a bit more, and sometimes after it runs, I can hear it releasing some air. It almost seems like the sensor is way too sensitive, and is trying to adjust for bumps in the road, or just general weight transfer. I tried to test this by just sitting still on the bike in the yard. I sat for a couple minutes, and everything was fine. I then drove around my yard, and soon as I stopped, the compressor kicked in for a bit.

Besides leaks, is there anything else I should check?

try a old plumber trick. fill the shock all the way up with air, than with a soapy mixture in a spray bottle get under there and spray liberally all around and look for air bubbles.

If you notice it will bleed air when you stop because the front end goes down and the rear comes up. The rear will dip after you stop and then the compressor will level the suspension. It will do this more two-up. The sensor is for leveling. The control is for firmness. It sounds like its working normally but it couldn't hurt to check for leaks.

That sounds exactly like what it is doing. I've almost ruled out leaks, because it seems to have more or less held air overnight.
