• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Madstad Brackets & Shield on a F3

Should I assume that my 5'0" wife needs the 18" model?? (yes, I'm ready for the jokes......)

At 5ft yes, you might be able to use the ones from BRP (Blue Ridge), but if you were to order the Madstad the 18" for sure. I just had my wife on mine to try to answer your question. She is 5'2" and with the 20" screen her eye line is about 3" below the top of the rim. So 18" would be perfect for her.

My advice is . . . .

. . . . Go with the 18".

I am 5'7" and I am looking right at the top of the 20" shield - it is right at eye level. And it is at the lowest setting.

With the 18", I would guess she would almost always ride a with the shield at it's lowest setting too.

Madstad is suggesting a 14" for my wife.

Based on the pictures doesn't look at all bad to me (and the need for protection is great.. I did a 1047 mile ride in two days on my F3S last week and I was really beat up with only the Blue Ridge) . I only live 30 minutes from them so adding this to my stops soon..

Springfield Mo. to Green Valley AZ no shield. 1234 mi. wasn't bad till we hit the wind! Probably won't get a shield till winter oh wait we don't have winter! I'll probably do the Madstad because we have a lot of wind around here!

I neglected to mention that my 1047 miles was in high wind and oftentimes heavy rain

Lucky we had no rain. Just those 35-45mph gust of winds. Going around White Sands Middle range thought I was going to be knocked over.

Ride safe

Ordered by noon today. They said I would get the invoice right away via email. Nothing yet. Makes me nervous that the order "took"

Glad so many give this a thumbs up. I love my blue ridge without all the mounting brackets in the middle and the gap at the bottom as this one seems to have. Nothing is for everyone so I'm glad their are options to choose.
