Glove box wont open

Worked just fine until today...push down on it a little bit, and it would release.

Today? Nada.....and of course the wife's phone is in there.

Any suggestions?

There is a small pair of gloves in there as well, but it isn't crammed so full that it is keeping the lid from moving....I don't think.

just try and put weight down on the front close to the seat and keep trying to see if it will open, otherwise removing the Tupperware around the area and trying to release it like that. and never leave a phone in there, i cooked one having it in there

I believe it locks when you lock the steering. Even if you didn't lock it you might try locking it and then unlocking and see if the glove box will open then. Mine wouldn't open yesterday. I drove it for a little bit on to the gas station and it open just fine then.

Wife got a flat tip screw driver up there and was able to release the lock....amazingly, that was right after she moved it to the shade...

No idea what the issue was....
