• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Here: Hi to all

Welcome

Welcome to the family. There are a lot of great people on here that are willing to help with all things Spyder so don't be afraid to pick their brains:yes:

I'm right there with you.... Had my :spyder2: for a week. Haven't put too many miles on her as I expected due to work and weather, but that will change. I bought mine with the Fogs, 12v outlet and Givi top and side hard cases....But I don't really count those as mods as I didn't do them.

Right now, I'm starting to get a good idea what I need to mod. A short 40 mile trip with with wife the other night told us even more.

For me, the more time I spend on it stock, the better. Also, the more time I spend here on :spyder2: Lovers the better.

Since joining SL, and buying my Spyder, I've changed my mind from buying three different touring wind shields based on the feed back from various posts here. I'm glad I took the time to read through the archive as well ask my own questions. I'm still narrowing the search for Windshield down from two. :)

Now I know I also need new Passenger pegs for the wife. Easy enough right? I see there are two or three vendors including BRP that have them... SO that makes choosing more difficult as I want a factory look and at the same time the best comfort for my wife, -without melting her boot. :)

So... My best advice as another VIRGIN spyder owner is to take your time and get what matters most for you. Make sure you have the right riding gear, and work on the other mods as you discover the need. So loiter here and pick these guys and gals brains. -They've been awesome to me.

Also, I plan to link up with other Spyder owners in my area. This will give me a chance to sit on their custom seats, sit on a spyder with the 3" risers, look at how they mounted their GPS, etc... I think that is what will be most useful is actually seeing these mods in person.

Just my 2 cents..
