On May 20, 2009, BRP invites Spyder roadster owners down to Xtreme Powersports to take part in this year’s first Chicago owner’s event. The group will then ride together to the local Quaker Steak and Lube in Portage. This is a great time to meet other Spyder owners from the Chicago area and it will be a fun night on the town! Please see below for more details of the event. To take part, Spyder owners need to RSVP for this event to [email protected].

Owners must provide their own Spyder to participate and are encouraged to bring a spouse or friend…on the back of your Spyder of course.

11:00pm – Quaker Steak and Lube is closed – Ride Home Safe!

If I had more vacation time or I was laid off, I'd go too. I was picked to be one of the few who get to stay working while the balance of the plant is laid off. :2thumbs:

Better take the $$$ while it's there!

If the auto industry goes under it will affect all 50 states - I can't see how we would avoid a full blown depression if that happens.

You don't have to tell me twice. :2thumbs: I don't know if I consider this funny or sad or what but there are about 135 people eligible for 28 jobs during the layoff and they only ended up with about 35 people requesting the jobs. :dontknow: 100 people would rather be out on unemployment than earning a paycheck.

I don't understand their way of thinking. I guess its like a semi-paid vacation as unemployment is much less $$$ than a 40 hour check.

Yeah - that is crazy - I mean - it's not like that unemployment isn't going to be there for the 28 people once they are finally done working.

I'm sure there are *some* that will use the time to find a new job - but I'm betting most will consider it some kind of vacation like you said.

It's gonna get worse before it gets better!

Glad you made it through this phase. Maybe things will work out and the market will pick up. I hear Fiat has its eye on part of GM now as well as Chrysler.

Fiat is looking at GM North America or GM Europe? I have heard that Fiat is thinking of getting involved in the Opel deal.
