• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dealer networks?

Guys,
do Can Am dealers work at all like car dealers? With a car, if that dealer doesn't have the exact model you want, they can do a search of other dealers and see if they can find that for you. Does anyone know if Can Am dealers will do that? I have a local dealer (haven't talked with them yet - hope to do that tomorrow) but from the website, they don't have what I want (2014 Cognac SE6 RT-S), but I WILL probably use them for any work that has to be done (they are about 15-20 minutes from my house). Ideally, I'd like to buy it from them also, but.....

Hopefully even if I DON'T purchase it there, I can still get good service (I've seen stories on here about dealers that kind of blow you off if you don't buy the bike from them...).
Ideas?

Not sure..!!

I think not unless really close and you could just go there to buy it. Any dealer should give you service or they could loose there dealership. Brp is not very stringent with their dealerships but working on it. Check anyway he may find a way but at least you tried him and therefore he should be happy to service it for you...

Yes. At least when I was looking back in Nov 2013 the local dealer found an RT in the crate like what I was interested in at a dealer in Washington. He talked like shipping wouldn't even be a big deal.

The dealers in my area will do that. It certainly can't hurt to ask yours. Let them know that you want to buy from them and not from somewhere else.

Depends on the dealer. BRP give dealers the tools to do that kind of search and some dealers communicate with other dealers for part swapping and tech help, but the dealers establishes that kind of communications. Some dealers just want to be the "only Coca-Cola in the desert" and don't play well with others.

RE: Dealer inventory as posted on their websites. Most dealers that I have encountered show the full line up as current stock as a matter of practice. An actual call to dealer X should be made to find whether they have Spyder X in Color Y actually in stock.

Most dealers are not big enough to even stock one of each model and color combo.

It is great when a local dealer will help you out by finding the one you want if not in stock locally. Some dealers are more customer friendly than others. Hope you have good luck in your area.
