• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Heard this today about Spyders

Showed a coworker a picture of my :spyder2:. He said you bought a reversed trike. Huh? Uh...He said those are for riders that can't balance or hold a 2-wheel motorcycle up. I replied "really?" SMH, I said it's an awesome machine!

Do you ryde to ensure his happiness . . . or yours? Lots of folks say lots of things ("If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor!") . . . but it doesn't mean they aren't full of :cus:

My Spyder is, without doubt, the most fun I've had in my 60's! :ohyea:

Hey, Let us not forget Drew of the New Orleans Saints rides a Spyder!:firstplace:

Dennis

I always wondered about those celebrity riders. Do they really ride, or just collect the money for the commercial and go their merry ways?

A couple Danica promos, (where she talked), kind of gave me the vibes that she did not know much, or really ride a :ani29:.

And, did they really plop down their own money for them? I feel that if you ain't a payer, you ain't a player. :dontknow:

IDK about Drew, but Lil Bow Wow actually rides his. He rides without a helmet at times.

I'm sure there will be those that don't like this post; oh well.

I really don't care what well known person rides a spyder. I don't need to be validated by someone else's name.

People that don't know diddley about the :spyder2: are very good at inserting foot in mouth. We don't need no stinkin praise from them. :roflblack::roflblack:

I bought my :spyder2: for me, not them. If they don't like it--tough. :lecturef_smilie:
:agree: Deanna

In the 2 years I've had my RS, and over some 10K miles, I've only had 1 questionable comment made about my Spyder. Hundreds of positive comments though!

So.... there's always at least 1 idiot out there who has to proclaim his ignorance loudly. Try to be gentle with him he can't help himself. :lecturef_smilie:

""""""" Tell me where you've been and I'll tell who you are"""""""" I love this qoute because it's really reflect most of us. Have nice ride :spyder2:lovers.

Why do all of you get tweaked when someone makes that comment?? It is pretty much true that its easier to generally ride a spyder vs 2 wheels, and many of you old timers made the change from 2 wheels to the spyder for that exact reason.

When someone makes that comment to me I usually agree. Except to add that while the spyder is easier to ride than a 2 wheeler, its more difficult and much more tiring to ride HARDER than a 2 wheeler.

I know when I'm feeling lazy I ride the spyder vs my bike......

i pretty much agree, it is easier all around, but more upper body effort in the twisties for sure. I havent had anyone really make a negative comment to me except my peahead nephew but my answer is always that its a lot safer than 2 wheels (which i still ride).

Meh - Not everyone gets it

Meh - Not everyone gets it. Some on this forum would say I don't get it. Whatever.
I do think that these are machines for somewhat risk averse people. Those of us who, ya know, have work and family responsibilities that are aided when we keep our bodies intact. For some of us, it's a maturity that comes with age, some have it more as a matter of course.

I used to refer to the risk averse as weenies and chickens, when I was 10, some folks never grow out of that I suppose! Enjoy what ya got, and when some non rider admits they have no ride, ask him who is having more fun!

I've had VERY few folks try to insult me or my Spyder.
When they have; I LOVE to ask what they're riding...

Over half the time; they don't even ride! :roflblack:
So I answer them with a quick, "I thought so..." and end the conversation!

The ones that do ride... You can usually find some common ground for a friendly discussion. ;)

Spyder versus 2 wheel motorcycles

I just purchased a 2015 F3-S Spyder. I sold my 2014 Harley Street Glide Special this Fall. The Harley rode well but pushing it backwards off a gravel path needs 2 people & parking lot manuvering at 3 mph is no easy trick. Some bikers will always put down anything that does not resemble their bike--it's just envy from those with "small minds".
I also have another bike, a 2007 stage 2 turbo Hayabusa that weighs 530 lbs--easy to manuver but can't carry a quart of milk or 6 pack. My Hayabusa dyno'd at 343 rwhp with 210 lbs torgue. It's a spiritual experience on freeways plus I've ran it on several 1 mi land speed racing on airport strips in the 200 mph range. If someone slams my Spyder I'll gladly bet them some serious money on a race & show up with my Hayabusa. The F3-s is a blast to ride--a new toy with new parameters--I already love it.

Love my Harley and both F3's if you don't like either...I really could care less. Conversation over.

I honestly believe he doesn't have a car. I've always seen him as a passenger :dontknow:. ? Rode to the store tonight, a guy walks by and said awesome bike! Spyders are incredible machines!!!

My friends who ride Harley motorcycles are DELIGHTED when I go with them.
I get all the tourist attention, and they are free to gas up and go have a snack.
