• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Posi-Taps size?

I am going to be doing some DIY wiring on my RT. I have read a lot of good things about the Posi-Tap connectors but I am confused about which ones I should buy. I want to buy a quantity of them for future projects but I don't want to invest in the wrong size.
Thanks in advance.

IT DEPENDS

On what wire sizes are involved.....posi-taps come in different sizes that cover a few different sizes.....just look at the package and get the one that fits the size wires you are using............LED wires can be 30 ga. and work fine ....I have lots of 26 ga. stereo speaker wire left over because I always up-graded to 16 or 14 ga...........The main wiring in your Spyder is probably 18 or 20 Ga...............Mike

Most NAPA stores have a small sample kit with 2 or 3 sizes in it. You may have to hunt in the store as most of the time when I ask for them I get a blank stare.

Thanks Mike. I was curious about the wire size in the Spyder. I haven't cracked open the tupperware yet and the wasn't clear on how to read the wiring diagram for gauge size.

When I purchased posi-taps, I made sure I knew the amp draw of the circuit, and then sized accordingly. If you're working with an existing circuit, check the fuse size; then, look at a chart for amps vs wire gage.

Let's see..!!

most terminals are by wire guage. If in doubt start with a mixed box and then add the most commonly used on the roadster. You will have different sizes so always good to have a variety...
