There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

:lecturef_smilie::gaah: I was told to-day running boards, plain for SE5 1200.00 if you want the spider insert another 100 and if you have a SM5 another 100 . Should be ready to order Mon. , Tues for the highrollers that can afford them. I certainly like the looks of them but way over the top , price wise:gaah::gaah:
I was gonna guess $1,000 base but had not asked. Gotta consider that this (supposedly) addresses the brake pedal, but yes that's a lot of $.
The "harley style" options from others are about $800 I think and of course DIYs much less if you have the tools/skill.
I thought, too, that they were going to provide some sort of stand alone brake pedal and shifter "extender" for - perhaps - the DIY floorboarder.
Gotta wait for the new pics.
Maybe a new vendor group buy could be done - can't hurt to ask.

Jeff from ISCI was at Thunder Beach. They had an SE5 with both passenger and driver footboards, and the Hydralic Handbrake. He gave me a price of $1100 for the driver footboards, didn't think till later to ask about SM5, and said they didn't have the price for the passenger boards or the handbrake. Told me to call Wed and would have price on the handbrake, and if I wanted it he would install in Myrtle Beach.

When I got my Spyder I knew that there would be the possibility that floorboard and or brake pedal extension would come out that is one of the reason I got the bike. I am over 6ft and to have my knees bent this way for long ride I thought was going to be very painful but after 5 week of riding my Spyder I don't care if they do come out as I have gotten very used to the feet position and I also have NMN pegs brackets that works great and I not going to spend those ridicules amount for two pieces of metal and a few brackets when so many of our members have made there own and they all look so great. If these companies wants our business they better think of those prices and be reasonable or as one put it they, (will not be in the Spyder accessory business long with that kind of pricing)

Reality check time - good products cost good money. The $1,100 seems a bit high - but something in the $800 range would be fair.
Realize they have insurance in place to cover their :cus: incase something happens and you end up falling off.
Heck- Marcel is selling some really crappy looking ones for $700 !

Just another (pricing) data point even though they are both floorboards there is a degree of apples and oranges. Some like and will pay for apples, some the same for oranges, and others hate grapefruit. :dontknow:

I can only compare to those available for the BMW LT - the Boards are $475, and the extensions are another $350. Anyway, the pricing isn't that far off the competition. Further, they have to assume low volumes, so a higher price.
You do have the choice NOT to buy, but I've held off buying my Spyder until the boards are available. I do not consider it rideable (comfortable) without them... just my $0.02

I was able to sit on the rep from ICSI's :f_spider: on Saturday and I must say they are very well manufactured products. I too find the price a bit steep but for looks and comfort these are A1. The highway pegs will be adjustable with the extensions and can be mounted in multiple locations to allow for leg position change or for multiple riders of the same spyder. The passenger board were very sturdy and the mount is exceptional.
They said that they would install any proiduct I bought and as I live about 2 hours away from there location that is a real plus for me.
I will probably add them later - willnot be one of my first mods.
I want NMN 3" risers and a new seat first. :2thumbs:

Interesting setup on those - doesn't look very shift-friendly to me from the photos - you should always be able to shift with just a pivot of the foot - you shouldn't have to actually lift your foot up.

I agree. A new set of Harley floor boards cost $50.00 - $85.00 (depends on where you get them. - Ebay - JC Whitney), How much to make required bracket? The Harley boards are made so the rubber part you foot is on is isolated from the board's frame - reducing vibration.

The seller knows what it costs for the design, patents, insurance, manufacturing and overhead... and what the expected volume will be.
Only he/she/them can set the price which also produces a reasonable profit... a fair return for shareholders. That (profit) is why a for-profit business is in business... no other reason. Period.
If the combination of production cost, overhead and profit are too high for the market, then they won't sell. Back to the drawing board or drop out.

I'd rather sell 10 @ $2,500 each - less work = more profit.
Considering none of us knows the actual costs they have into these - who knows how many hundred they will have to sell just to get their R&D money back.
It's also unfair to compare products for HD or Victory. There are only 12,000 or so Spyders in the world - much smaller market - thus why Spyder accessories are going to be more expensive.
You get what you pay for - I'm sure there will be some cheap Chinese knock-offs sometime. :barf:
