• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help on tires!!!

I am looking to replace the front tires on my 2012 RT Ltd. I have looked at Parelli, Goodear, Uniroyal, Michelin, Continental, and several others and can't find any 165/65 R14 that are worth a crap. Michelin had some, but to put them on a Can Am voids the warranty.

I did find some GT Radial brand on Amazon, that look identical to a Parelli, but know nothing about them.

Has anyone found tires that work???????

HELP!!!!!!

Many have...

if you do a search here you will find all the one found used and reviewed. I have had good luck with the stock kendas and most issues have been with the rear tires. As far as the warranty, if any issue can be directly attributed to car tires in use, then only that issue can be voided. If you do do the search you will see the massive amounts of data and info on the subject. If it gets as confusing as it looks stick with the stock tires...:thumbup:

I have a 2012 RT Limited with car tires and have had NO problems with warranty or handling. On the front I have 185/65/14 General Altimax HPs running at 20 psi for 2,000 miles. They fit the fenders no problem so 165, 175, 185's should fit the fronts many size options there. On the rear I am running a 215/60/15 Michelin Primacy with NO Warranty or handling problems in 6,000 miles running at 28 psi plenty of choices in this size. Let me also say, I have had NO nanny problems and No problems in the rain. You can check other tire threads for more.

[h=1]TIRE SUPPLIER?[/h]

BEFORE BUYING CAR TIRES

I have been using car tires since 2010 on three different Spyders and wouldn't use anything else.......However you need to find someone who will mount and balance ( the fronts at least ) them for you,.....the reason I say this is .....not all dealers will do it if it's not a KENDA...........Any shop that does car tires can do the Spyder wheels if you bring them in OFF THE SPYDER........Good Luck you won't be sorry,..........Mike :thumbup:

Thanks for the help

Thank all of you for your input.

I looked and I don't see how a wider tire would work since it looks like the sidewall would be awful close to the front fender support.

I just ordered Federal SS 687 tires in 165/65 R14. My dealer says he will put them on and balance them for me. I'll take them off the bike and bring them in. I saw some posts that guys were using Federals and having good luck with them so here I go.

Once again I have 185/65/14 tires on the front of my 2012 RTL and they fit. Therefore 175's will fit as well. I have not moved the fenders or used spacers. Use what you want, just giving you more choice.

Put the Michelin Defenders 175/65/14 on the front of our 11RT

These fit with a little wiggle room when you slip them on. Discount Tire did a good job balancing them and they look like new after 20,000 miles. I made sure I swiveled the fender light wiring to the inside of the fender struts and my wife loves the smooth ride. Also have about 11,000 miles on the rear Kumho Ecsta and will need to change it out next summer sometime. Still good probably for another 5,000 miles.

Installed 175/65R14 Hankook Optimo 45 ,also with no problem on 2- 2012 RTLs. Snug fit installing on bike but once on ,no clearance problems and no mods needed.
