• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My friend just bought a brand new Spyder RT-SE-6 on Friday and was told by the dealer that the 1st maintenance and oil change was not until 10,000 miles ! is this correct?

3k for first service. Then every 9600-10k thereafter...Did he not get a manual?

The upside...the dealer did not say 600 miles like most have been saying.

As mentioned above, first service at 3000 miles, then at 12,300 miles (9,300 miles after first service), or once a year--whichever comes first.

Valve adjustment service is not required on the ACE 1330.

:congrats: on the new ride.

Thanks, I will tell him, he is so sure that the dearer told him 10,000 miles for the 1st service, they just wanted to make the sale. (STEALERSHIPS)

Sokay, my dealer is great but the finance guy still told me I would really enjoy the prepaid servicing package since valve adjustments were such a pain. I almost laughed.

I'm like ...man...I'm gettin the '14 cuz it doesn't have valve adjustments, I have do to 'em every 10 hours on my KTM....

I find it amazing that the dealers STILL aren't getting this right... :gaah:
Spyders just don't make up enough of the percentage of the typical powersports company's business for them to bother to train people properly. thank goodness its better than it was only a few years ago...

But by the same token, the good dealers are high volume spyder sellers/sales.....so what comes first, great service or high volume? Thats an easy one..:D

Why can't people read the manual? Don't take anything for granted when someone at a dealer tells you something unless you know for certain they are knowledgeable on the product. I trust my dealer to the max, but they had to prove that they know what they are doing. I have walked into car dealers and know more than the sales people about a car. The best thing you can do is check something out for yourself. Let the dealer know they are wrong, in a nice way, if you have checked something out.
