F3 Test Ryde

Well Finally got my first F3 test Ryde.. What can I saY? IT IS HOT! The power is awesome. Couldn't help myself from doing a few burnouts during the ride, even in the group setting. The cornering is amazing with the lower center of gravity - you just don't feel the lateral force that you do on curves from the current spyders. I feel like I could chase any crotch rocket through the curves with this machine. Oh by the way - no 45 second wait after you turn the key on, Now its key, start, and GO... I know thats a little thing but its one more thing that makes it like a motorcycle. The stock exhaust sounds is pretty sweet as is. I will probably spring for a cat delete just to give it a little more rumble - but once again this machine sounds more like a motorcycle already. I am older than I used to be so I am going to add the floorboards (still get the same posture) and the Route 66 windshield. In over 4 years and 100,000 miles of Spyder Ryding I have never had a speeding ticket. I am a bit worried that the F3 may be the downfall of that chain...

Thx for the post / it'd be great if someone could post a vid of the stock exhaust sound.. I'll probably do the cat delete too because I think it'll be just enough and the Akrapovich for the F3 looks like poo in my opinion..

You know, in the light of these glowing ride reports from experienced
Spyder Ryders, the F3 could be very big indeed! Even the press, who are
normally quite negative in their appraisals of Can-Am Spyders are, generally
speaking, very positively.
It may also be that demand may outstrip BRP's ability capacity for production,
a little like the Triumph Street Triple which you couldn't get for love nor money
a short while after it was introduced!
BikerDoc here has, it seems, already made his decision based on a test ride
and is now planning his initial farkeling strategy!!

F-3 AND THE NEW 1330 ACE ENGINE

:firstplace:...I don't think anyone has said this yet.....So I'm making a prediction....TWO more years and BRP will not have the " 998 " twin in any Spyder ( maybe sooner considering what is now going on with the NHTSA investigation and BRP ) It just won't make any sense. Also the RS will be dropped with the ST remaining .........But with the Ace engine in it .................JMHO.....Mike

I sure hope the aftermarket folks are getting after the exhaust needs for the F3. The only thing I don't like on this machine is the stock pipe, pretty ugly.

MY RIDE IN KISSIMMEE

It was great, and everything mentioned above, however I was able to ride twice, once on a SE, and then on a SM, the SM had a deeper sounding exhaust, I asked the BRP guys, and they too agreed with this observation, but could not explain why, as the only difference is how you change the gears. I put a deposit on a F3S, but have a dilemma, do I go with a SM or SE model, and what can folks share with me on heel/toe shifters for the spiders.

It both looks and sounds like the F3 was made for you. I think BRP has a winner here. :firstplace:

As a two wheel rider for 40 years, I ordered the F3-S SE because it just makes the ryde so much less distracting.

I like the SM 6

I live in the mountains and have more control with a manual transmission . But like the automatic transmission in my trucks not my sports cars. I have tried the SE5 and did not like it would be good in stop and go traffic and interstate .

Certainly a "heavy foot" always like the control of a manual gearbox. Been there, done that, now more kicked back rider.

AGREE BUT !!!!! I don't think you will see any Rs type models available after this year. There is no where to go with not only the existing engine but also the existing chassis configuration.

I hope all you "beta testers" have good luck with your machines. I have to admit, I am intrigued. But I do know that I enjoy the RT, had a 2013, and after all the positive reports on the 2014s, I was able to snag a leftover 2014 RTS. Seems to be everything everyone said. Now I will enjoy the heck out of this little baby while ya'll get the kinks worked out of the F-3. Then, who knows...! Also, the aftermarket folks should catch up by then, Corbin bags, F4 windshield, bump skids and seats... The list goes on! Have fun folks! Write often and post the pics!

Thats why I am keeping my 2014 RTL and adding the F3 to the stable. Each of these machines is its own dream, but totally different....
