• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Taking The Spyder Fishing

Since my spyder takes a backseat to my main hobby, fishing, I thought it would be neat if I could combine the two. With plenty of room in the trunk for tackle, cigars and refreshments, my only problem was affixing the fishing rod to the spyder. Does this look too tacky?

Great idea - in fact I just had somebody stop ans ask questions about my :spyder2: and he said he really liked the look and he would love to get one but he was worried about being able to use it to go fishing. I remember seeing a psot this past weekend where someone had attached a fishing pole to his handle on the rear seat.

I told him to go buy a :spyder2: and secure the pole - enjoy fishing twice as much. :2thumbs::clap:

Doesn't look tacky and I have been looking into this myself. I worry about the extra length. What about something to stand them up straight with. Like off the back rest. I need to put two on and still kick my leg up over back. Only way I can get on. Wonder about a front hook up.. Comon Scotty Bet yopu can think of something..

Well, I made it to the lake and back with no problem. I too have considered tying another pole to the other side. By strapping the handles into the rear seat handles, they do not interfere with mounting or dismounting (unless your other half wants to join you).

I haven't fished since I discovered the internal combustion engine. :D Collapible fishing rod sounds like the solution to me.

I had bought one of those 5 piece rods that fit nicely in the trunk. Unfortunately, during the 3rd cast, the top 2 pieces flew off breaking the line and landing in the lake.

There's nothing like a 'real' fishing rod anyway.

Thanks for the delightful mental picture! I'm still laughing.

Forget everything I said. BTW, do they still sell cane poles for a dime at the bait shop?

I used a piece of PVC, and put it on the outside of the grabbars with tiewraps, a little larger than the rodgrip, put a wrag over the end and push it in snugly, then when i get off work, i go riding and fishing, killing two birds with one stone, just doesn't get any better than this!

they are sculpins :gaah:
they are small rock fish we catch mostly in winter time.

I'm here in MD and we can eat the rockfish again...however, I'm not sure I want anything out of the bay...

My favorite fish at this time is the black bass...cooks up even more nicely than the red snapper...yum! Hard to get up here...think they come from Florida waters?

Grill it whole with slits cut into it...fill the slits with garlic, rub the skin with olive oil, and put lemon in the body cavity...along with some white wine...tough to beat...
