There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Winter IS coming

Winter out here means cold wet weather - the kind I don't ride in. So I've saved some of my farkles to install over the winter - Baja Ron's sway bar, hard wiring my GPS, adding a trailer hitch, and a couple of other items of lesser note. I may also add a better horn, and I'm still considering a belt tensioner... my goal is to add a couple of things a month during November, December, and January (February can have some nice weather), just to keep my hands dirty. I'm probably also going to pull the inserts that reside where the big spenders have the fog lights, and have them painted the same color as the bike - BRPs $450 asking price for the fog lights - just for the parts - is a joke.

My RT has it's own garage, shared with my shop, which is nice and dry and heated, so we're good to go!

What farkles are you going to add this winter? Let's keep an open dialog, in case anyone runs into a problem...

Don't know..!!

winter here means I have to wear a tee shirt under my shirt. We ryde all year and I have put most of what I want on already. But it does sound like you will be busy and have a good winter season. Would kill me to have to wait that long to test the mods out...:roflblack: enjoy the installs...

Yep, I spent a few years on North Island with the Uncle's canoe club.... know what it's like. I'll keep my winters, thanks...

Last weekend, I left my home for a loop through the hills around the town where I live - less than 5 minutes from my driveway. I rode 60+ miles, never had a bug splat, nor saw another vehicle, until I was back within 5 minutes of my driveway.. It's really easy to get away from people up here. You should come up & see for yourself one day.

Ride up 101 all the way to Astoria, then head East...

Not Too Many

Our winters in Minnesota last a bit longer. Normally from mid November through March. So I have a lot of time and a heated shop to work on the Spyder. The only thing that stops me from adding more is $, or I should say the lack of.

This winter my plan is to add running lights (LED's) around the driver floorboards and see if I can get my Crib Clicker garage door opener to work. If I can get the money up add the KOTT grill covers as well as the missing belt guard from Spyder Pops.

We are also saving up to replace our Arai helmets and Bluetooth headsets. Yesterday we tried on the Bell Mag-9 helmets thinking that the Sena helmet and Sena headset looked like a winning combo and under $600 for both. Sadly the helmets just do not fit as well as the Arai. So now we are looking closer to $1200 for new Arai's and Sena headsets. Ouch, but if the helmet is not comfortable for up to 12 hours a day you wasted your money. Been there done that!

Well; it kind of depends on just how good I've been all year...
My "Christmas Wish-List" will be 100% farkles... AGAIN!
What I'm really hoping for; is Reggy's new side storage compartment LED lighting, and a BRP Chrome Windshield mounting bracket...
:pray::pray::pray::pray::pray:

Time will tell...

At this time of year, all the farkles I buy go to Mrs Claus for birthday & Christmas presents - that gives me lots to do when the weather is too crummy to ryde.

I'm probably going to add the trailer hitch to my list, with the included mud flap as a real bonus. Still pondering the belt tensioner - I'm right on the fence on that one.

Anyone have one on a 2014 RT? Worth the $$ ??

I've see some RT622s in the $2500 range, so I've been harassing my dealer. At that price, I'd spring - at $3500, no thanks. It's a cost per use thing.

Winter and Farkles.

Winter: very soon to be here in full force. It snowed at the 1000 ft. level on the mountains this weekend. Some cars were driving by yesterday with "snow on the roof." My ride to Hatcher Pass now has two plus inches of snow on the ground. Temps in the morning, now below freezing.

No ice or snow yet in my neighborhood, but it's coming, and the :spyder2:'s will be parked. Last year, they were parked on 10/8 and the year before on 10/5.

I have the KOTT (Keep out the trash) vents to install. Glad I did not put them in before my "accident," they would have got damaged. The cowl parts are due in this week, and dealer said if the snow comes, they will trailer my :spyder2: back and forth so that the 2014 is like new before she goes to sleep.

No extra farkles planned--at this time--but--time will tell.

Have it already - wrapped and Tree Ready... most of the gatherings are East coast, and I prefer to stay West of the Rockies, when riding... (WEATHER, bugs, and crowds...)

We are having two days of winter right now so I had to get out my sweatshirt and jacket this morning. We ride in the most brutally cold Florida weather so just have to squeeze in the farkles when we can

WOW! 80F Really!! :D - - problem is the 2500 miles between the Rockies and your neck of the woods! I was raised in Misery, and left when I was 9, and never went back for visits or pleasure - even with relatives still around.. business was always a very quick in and out - and I've never been in the midwest for more than a day without tornados, thunderstorms, or snow....

I am maybe three weeks away from putting my Spyder into winter storage and I am seriously depressed about that! Time to start planning additions for next year, which include a BajaRon Sway Bar and Kuryakyn ISO Grips. Not much else happens around here from November to March in the riding world.:sour:

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR COLD

Three weeks ago I put up my spyder for Winter Storage,(Oct. to April 1) Not much happens here for farkling, in the riding world. I can not wait until Spring to take my spyder out of its winter nap. So I can put miles on it. Deanna

:yikes: What will you do, for the next SIX MOTHS???

Winter here in Northern Ca. means I have to put on a slightly warmer T-Shirt on under my shirt than you
and so far it doesn't rain in CA. has not for a long time so it's warm and dry, last Christmas I was able to
talk my wife into going around to the grand kids homes on the ST1300 it was 77 outside.
Just right for riding....

I have a water management system for my RT622 to install this winter. My trailer is a 2010 Premier, and didn't come with it standard. It also needs to have the carpet lining re-secured around the edges. I also want to get the Custom Dynamics trunk brake/running light and install it.

Not sure what I'll need to get at Spyderfest next spring, but I'm sure I'l find something! I need to stop following MurphyBrown around there. She buys everything!

Just put my Spyder away today. It was even snowing a bit!:yikes: I do not really have any major mods planned for this winter, but would like to take the frunk off so I can easily access the grease zerks! I also have a big blue lift that I bought this summer, that I would like to put together and try out. Who knows what else, but the winter is long, so something might come to mind!;)
