• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

motorcycle endorsement

Hi Dee!
So; is your license marked for operation of three-wheeled motorcycles only?
(I don't know Vermont's Licensing Statutes...)
Bob: I have on my license : Endorsement M Class: D, Restrictions: F
Than I have a Separate card that say" Vermont Agency of Transportation Dept. of Motor Vehicles Special Restriction Card, RESTRICTED TO RIDING A 3 WHEEL MOTORCYCLE ONLY. I have to carry this card with me all the time. IMPORTANT: MUST BE CARRIED WITH LICENSE/PERMIT!!!!!

They started the above 2 years ago. When you get a chance go to :
State of Vermont website ( department of Motor Vehicles) and look. Also, you can ask Mike about it. Deanna

meanwhile in in Oklahoma...

You have to have the endorsement for any vehicle with less than 4 wheels driven on a roadway as any motorized vehicle with less than 4 wheels is a motorcycle. Driving a 4-wheel ATV over trails can be done by anyone. BUT get it on a road and you are hosed without a DL.

On a stranger note, if you add an engine to a bicycle (either electric engine or gas engine) it is still a mechanical bicycle and does NOT require the endorsement.

RECIPROCITY

i've been back-n-forth with my State Senator today, and he ASSURES me that NO 'motorcycle endorsement' is required for a 3 Wheeled vehicle, aka: SPYD3R, in South Carolina, and that SC has RECIPROCITY with all the 50 States...
or, is it 57 States...? :dontknow: :gaah:

and i've read the entire law on motorized vehicles for SoCAr, and one part says a 2 wheeled bike with a side-cart is NOT considered, yet another part of the law says it is... so let's keep the confusion going guys n gals..... doh...... :hun:

Kansas has a Motorcycle Learners Permit, you are only supposed to ride 'in company' with a licensed motorcycle driver. Guess if you have problems they're supposed to do a ******** move and jump to yours to get it under control.:yikes:

Vermont has made a lot of changes over the years. I was a driver license examiner in Vermont in the 70s, testing everything on wheels. I was always amazed when someone would bring in a friend's bike because it was smaller. :gaah:They usually clumsily, rode the course, often failing. I told anyone who scheduled a test bring Your own bike, the course was big enough for Harley, BMW so etc. Bring the bike you Ryde. Much better.
I went 2 years ago, to get my permit/license, they had small 250cc motorcycles that you could take the driving part of the coarse.

When I went to get my license I drove my 2012 RTS-SE5 Spyder. I took my driving test on my spyder. When I got permit I could only drive during the day.

My license in NJ is similar. M endorsement with a 3 wheel restriction on a separate card I have to keep with my license.

I could have taken the road test on the Spyder but went the riding course route instead.

Yes, when you take a test on a 3 Wheeler Vermont will restrict you to it, unless you take it again with a 2 Wheeler to remove the restriction.
Dmv provided a 250 "bike,?
I am surprised they provide a motorcycle, is that right? * taking a test on an unfamiliar bike would result in disaster on many tests.

Yes, the State of Vermont did provide a motorcycle when I went thru the course.

The course was a 3 day class, 1st day was written,

2nd day was learning, and doing some basic maneuvers, and learning the controls.

3rd day was driving around cones, and practicing.( the 3rd day it was raining/misting) I got my permit, then I had to wait to take "the driving test " to get my license.

If you would like more info Go to : www.StateofVermont.org.
