• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Front Tires-OEM or Other Brands?

Hello, I a new Spyder owner, having purchased a 2013 RT Limited, and I'd like some advice on front tires. I have already read the posts of those who are running the Kumho Escta on the rear, how about for the front tires? What are all you fellow Spyder Ryders using and why? I don't' need tires just yet, just getting ideas. Thanks, this is a great forum, by the way. :doorag:

Many are running aftermarket front tires. The choices are a bit more extensive than with the rear tire as there are stock and optional sizes which will work up front. Traction (especially in the rain) is more important than mileage.

But with a proper alignment and tire pressure, the front tires will last a very long time. Not so the rear.

:congrats::thumbup:A lot of folks are using the Kumho Solus KH16 155/60 R 15 on the fronts and the Kumho Ecsta AST 225/50 R 15 on the rear. Some use the Michelin Hydroedge 215/ 60 R 15 on the rear with good results.

Federal also makes a tire in the correct size for the front hoops...
955 EVO? (I forgot the exact model. :opps:)

The Solus seems to be a decent-looking alternative..

Tires..!!

as you see there are many. There has been littke complaining about the Kenda front tires and many have continued using them. I preffer to have the same brand and tire style all around on street vehicles. I have done very well with Kenda front and rear so can't comment or recommend others...

The Federal is the EVO 595. I just put on a pair about 2K miles ago. Got 24K on my OEM fronts. The rear tires both (not at the same time, obviously) were at the wear bars at 13K.

I would not consider 2 options, neither of which are top tier name brand tires 'many options'

I would really like to see a Michelin, Yokohama or Bridgestone performance tire for the fronts and rear.
