• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help, I need to cut down a windshield, how do I do it?
There is no one in my town (Yuma AZ) that I can find to doit.

Just a suggestion, why don't you replace it with a smaller one?, there should be some aftermarket ones around.
That way when you are ready to upgrade to another Spyder you haven't just got a screen that suits you only.

We tried that, no one makes one that small (shot) for thewife. So I am buying a good used stock one and cutting it down and installingit and keeping the new one on the shelf.

never cut one for a spyder but I have cut a few for a Harley, put masking tape on both sides of the sheid with a pen or sharpy mark where you want to cut. I use a small diamond blade on a rotary saw that way its much smoother:spyder2:

CUT it ???

I have used a company for this and making windshields for me for years
GOOGLE Tap Plastics to see if they are in your area, if not you can mark your
windshield where you want it cut and send it to them they will cut it, polish the cut areas
clean the rest and send it back.
I just had them cut a piece of Lexan for me to replace a broken window in my 5th. wheel
trailer.
Super good company for anything plastic.

Here's what I do..!!

masking tape covering the area to cut. Magic marker to mark the cut. Dremel tool with cutting disc to make the cut. Sanding block to clean up...take your time and keep a slow steady cut...

We can supply you with our Sport shield that is 3" shorter than stock. It can be ordered stock width or wide (5" wider). Can order with or without vent. Clean it with glass cleaner and paper towels and it sheds rain like no other shield available. Give us a call, we can ship it same day! Thanks!
