2014 RT Limited / Body Roll

Anyone had any issues with body roll on there 2014?
Mine is in the dealer with what I thought was bad front tires. Front tires were changed out with new ones. The symptoms I thought was excessive vibrating of the front end at 40-50MPH. My dealer is calling it body roll. OK whatever. They are saying that BRP had issues with the stock shocks on the RT's. Anyone else experiencing this?
After the tire replacement is still has "Body Roll".
Kind of unsafe to be riding. I'm now growing somewhat concerned. New shocks from BRP hasn't arrived yet. I did go ahead and order Elka's 1 + R for the front. Machine only has 300 miles on it.

Mine has excessive body roll too. Checking to see if Bilstein has shocks for it. Don't want sway bar because of added weight and harsher ride.

The BajaRon sway bar doesn't weigh a pound more than the stock bar. And it makes for a better ride not a harsher one.

Stupid question here... :opps:
Are your tire pressures set correctly?
If the pressures are low; they'll roll over on you!

Yes, tire pressures are correct. 19 fronts and 28 rear.
Wheel bearings checked out ok. Front end feels like driving on ice.

You've got it backwards. Its stiffer shocks n springs that will yield a harsher ride, the sway bar only controls body roll or sway, does not effect spring rates or ride harshness.

Let's see..!!

shocks and tire pressure will be the places to check. Now you mentioned vibration..was that fixed when they changed out the tires..?? Don't see where that would have anything to do with body roll. The other thing often overlooked is the rear shock, if not adjusted correctly it will allow the rear to lift throwing you into the curve thus body roll...

I installed Bajaron sway bars and that didn't help.

Didn't help what? Your original post was about front end vibration. That has nothing to do with body roll or sway. The sway bar has nothing to do with wheel balance which cause front end vibration. I KNOW the Bajaron bar helped reduce sway or body roll. There is simply no way it could not.

After the new tires were installed the service manager said it helped some, he did say that he adjusted the rear shock setting in all positions and it yielded no difference.

Don't understand what you are trying to fix. This is the third completely different symptom you have described since the thread started. Now you say 'feels like driving on ice' Not really sure what you are trying to describe here, insufficient traction? tire skid? Lack of braking force available? Please give a better description of what it is you are having trouble with and someone here can likely help.

If your dealer called wheel vibration 'body roll' you really need to stay away from that mechanic.....

No, same description. Front end play as in steering, body roll is in the front end.

On an RTS, do I want the display all the way up or down?

Also I bumped the front up to 22 PSI and that seemed to help.

Still trying to understand what it is you are trying to correct. Steering play indicates something loose in the steering linkage, IE wander or directional control instability or a condition where moving the handlebars does not produce a corresponding change in direction. Body roll is completely different and has NOTHING to do with steering other than you experience it WHEN turning. IE the body rolls to the outside of the turn.

Just taking a stab here with all the descriptions you have attempted, are you saying the front wheels and fenders vibrate or wobble at speed? This is completely tire and wheel balance or defect related if the bearings have already been checked and found not loose.

Really trying to help here, I have a long line of experience in suspension design but its hard to offer help when you keep changing (with or without intent) the problem we are chasing. It just seems you are throwing words out there without understanding thier meaning or how they relate to various suspension components.

SWAY CONTROL

:yikes:....I made some brackets for the bottom attachment of the front shocks on my 2014 RT that increased the angle ( more up-right ) by 7 degree's and this appears to have helped the sway issue with mine.....I have no adjustment on my OEM shocks and haven't gone to RON's sway Bar yet......I'm not sure I have too................Mikeguyver

:banghead: I think that we're getting nowhere fast...
Six folks talking about eleventeen different things; won't help the guy.

Let's let jcthorne help him try to figure out what he's asking, and then we can see what might work to help the problems that he's having...

remember when we met i told you that i was keeping quiet but i felt the bike was wondering around on me. well i think that is what he is talking about, i felt the bike was leaning and moving around on me in turns and with the elkas it fixed my problem. now with the wrong shocks on the bike it is a big change but it just bottomed out on me. so sunday the new right shocks will go on the bike and my bike should be set up just right.
